Used moderately and with coffee, it is easily my favorite legal substance. Keeps me out of trouble, too.

Kratom is a fairly enjoyable experience, easily accessible, easy to ride without compromising a lot of the other menial tasks that life throws our way on the daily.  Even so, there is a dark edge in the over-imbibement of any activity.  On background, I have never used mitragyna speciosa on multiple consecutive days.  However I did catch myself getting more comfortable with increasingly frequent and higher dose sessions, which is right the time I decided it would be a good idea for me to put it down for a stretch.

It's a warm and comforting alteration, but I do, at least sometimes, feel a bit of a mildly negative after effect.  A general malaise, not terribly severe, but noticeable nevertheless.  Just a bit of a dulling, less motivational, more easily agitated type of mindspace.  On low doses, I really enjoy physical intimacy.  On higher doses, I tend to get too damn lazy about it.

At any rate, the plant performs wonders whenever I'm actually feeling pain.  I wouldn't recommend for any pain involving nausea.  It's nice a la carte as well, for a little shift in perspective.  Everything in balance.

Kratom has pretty much been a miracle for me and I don't even use it for some of the more serious reasons many people do, like addiction or crippling pain.

There is no other substance I can take pretty much indefinitely at the right dose with little to no tolerance or other issues.

I've gone years of 1.5g daily doses, usually just 2-3x a day so almost always under 5g a day. After months a break will make it more noticeable but the difference can be pretty minimal as long as I avoid redosing too quickly.

It's pretty much the only substance I have the willpower to use so consistently. Even cannabis and coffee are harder for me to use steadily. Though all 3 go amazing together and help balance eachother out.

That is one thing about kratom, it effects the body in fairly complex ways so it really does vary a ton person to person. People also use it so differently as well, seems like regular low doses and occasional high doses are the most common though.

Less is more is very true with kratom, the nausea makes it not really worth even trying to abuse. I've had as little as 2g of some potent reds make me sick, though I'm pretty sensitive.

Been using kratom for years very consistently. One other great thing is it's dirt cheap from the right source, 100-70$/KG is pretty much nothing unless you use larger doses. Even then it's not bad compared to other common addictions.

It also has a pretty damn wide range of medicinal benefits. Pain/addiction are the most obvious but it makes a pretty great overall health supplement at lower doses.

I get that agitated feeling as well, and I’m just about certain that if you get a habit going it’ll kill your libido.  The main side effects for me are googly eyes where they occasionally jitter and then the worst of all is some strains give me the shakes really bad.

Other than that it’s been real beneficial as a sort of adhd medicine and good for when I would get cravings to drink or catch a buzz, a few grams of kratom would ‘scratch that itch’ without any nasty consequences.  I have gotten some gnarly withdrawls from it though so you have to be careful of that.  I used to make fun of people saying it gave you wd’s and then one time I forgot to reorder and got nailed, it sucked surprisingly bad.

Kratom gave me the most intense crazy nightmares literally 100% thought they were real not even a hint of a dream. It was cool though anyone have advice on something to cover the taste, something good to mix with

Weird how it causes bad dreams for some, seems to enhance dreams for pretty much everyone though. Gives me bizarre dreams sometimes but I haven't had a nightmare I could remember in years

Mixes are subjective, personally I prefer other earthy tastes like tea/coffee. They mix with the kratom perfectly IMO, almost compliment eachother sometimes but maybe I'm just a coffee addict

Other people seem to prefer juice but it can be hit or miss IME, some juice doesn't sit well with kratom in my stomach. Thicker drinks like smoothies can be great though.

I think the best way to deal with the taste is shake your dose up in a small jar of water, if you get the water ratio right it will help dilute the taste a bit and make it easier to wash down with tea or whatever. Also just having it mixed thoroughly makes it a lot better, especially once it gets diluted past the muddy water consistency. Though too much water and you'll just be forcing yourself to drink/taste it longer, I try and add just enough to thin it out nicely.

I eat KRATOM like it’s my job because it keeps me from having any desire to get high beyond fleeting moments. Whereas when I’m out I’m totally at risk to do opiates if I find myself in a situation where I can get them.  All hail KRATOM!  I was an addict before this though so being hooked on KRATOM is a good step IME

kratom was a dead end for me, just like everything else that makes me feel good for no effort

don't get me wrong, kratom worked for me for like 6 months, easily. then it didn't, and I was just either sick or barely getting by all the time, even though I was eating 20g+ a day.

glad to have that monkey off my back, personally

To each their own.  If you’re struggling to the point you are an overdose risk Kratom is the least harmful treatment available

I take kratom everyday, im not in pain, but my tolerance to kratom is probably so high that it probably would suck for pain, I dont even get high off of it anymore, it just kinda calms me down

the main reason I still take it (other then addiction reasons) is that it kills my desire to drink, I drank once in the last at least like 6 months, and that was because I got a bottle of booze in my stocking for christmas, so I cracked it open on christmas morning, the first 4 drinks I had were extremely difficult to take in, I really didnt want to drink but I forced myself, but after the first 4 drinks I started to get buzzed and like the next 10 went down easy, like I never took a break from drinking

I ususally get a kg at a time, it last me about a month and a half to 2 months, but this month I got three because my vender had a buy 2 kg get one free deal on, so I have enough kratom that will last me like 4-6 months

I need to order kilos again.
Are we allowed to discuss vendors?

What's the best quality?
Either my tolerance is high or my vendor quality went down...

I enjoy the buzz every now and then, would prefer to just take an opiate pill or poppy tea but kratom's a convenient and okay substitute

Since I was addicted to opiates in the past the physical dependence comes on quick though, after just a few days in a row I start getting foggy and irritable only a few hours after a dose and feel the need to redose and keep it rolling

It's a cool once in awhile thing though.

I posted this in the last kratom thread, but ill post it in this one too, on reddit there is a user that only posts in the kratom thread, he is super smart and knows a lot about kratom, about once a month I read through his posts, heres a link https://www.reddit.com/user/Azulkat

heres a sample of his posts

Quote:

The differences aren't in varieties and species. Both suppliers from Borneo and vendors who have traveled to Borneo to witness Kratom production first hand have said that the strain names are completely marketing. According to researchers who have analyzed countless batches of kratom, they have found little difference in chemical composition or alkaloid ratios that distinguish strains, including actual varieties of the plant like horned leaves or leaves with different vein colors.

The colors are created by different drying methods. However, researchers also haven't found any variations in the alkaloid content or alkaloid ratios that distinguish the different colors. they have also analyzed the different drying methods and not found one that makes a difference. That doesn't necessarily mean that there couldn't be a difference they just haven't found yet but if there is one it's doubtful that it has to do with different alkaloids. All of kratom's different effects including stimulation and sedation can be explained by mitragynine and the 7-OHM metabolized from it when taken orally. These effects are also likely modified by the mu-opioid antagonists.

This doesn't mean that all kratom is the same. It's a plant and plants vary but the variation seems to be mostly in potency. Batches that have more of one alkaloid tend to have more of all the alkaloids. This variation can occur even within the same batch as most batches of kratom are made from leaves from many different trees possibly even from different regions. Vendors who have analyzed multiple samples from the same batch of kratom have often gotten different results from each sample.
