seeking new ways to steam pasteurize bulk substrate, please help (coir/verm)

Hello brethren, I am beginning to realize that pasteurizing only two bags of substrate at a time in my pressure cooker is becoming a little cumbersome and slow. I am finding myself preparing my bags many times a week and it takes a lot of time to prepare, mix and cleanup multiple days a week. There has to be a more efficient way to do this on a large scale so I have been searching the forum looking at the solutions that have been discussed and this seems to be the best one i have found thanks to member Akira.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6972036/fpart/all/vc/1
Curious mainly if anyone has been using this since he posted it many years ago or if any of you bulk growers are using something similar? I am also curios about pasteurizing in my oven, anyone doing that? Would this cause any issues to bag and its moisture content if it were wire tied up pretty good? Just to further specify, I am well aware of the parameters to achieve proper pasteurization so this post is not anything in regards to that, i am simply looking for ways to do more than around 10 lbs at once effectively. To anyone else in the same spot as me i would like to hear from you as well and i encourage you to checkout the link above. Thanks in advance to any input.

Bulk bins and a campfire cooker. I do like Akira's set up. But I once watched someone use 55 gallon drums and burners to keep the temperature right. This is a cool idea that Akira made along time ago.

coir doesn't need to be pasteurized you could use it with hot tap water if you wanted

Is that how you're doing it? just basically boil water in the bottom of the drum and have the sub on racks above? I have seen that for big commercial opps. Yeah he had a great idea im just surprised not many are using it or its not common now days. seems legit

Yes verm coir gypsum doesn't need sterilizing or pasturizing

Damn i may give it a shot then. At least with one tub at first. Let me get this straight you're just simply pouring boiling water in your mixing container over the coir and gyp, letting it set covered for 30-60 mins? Then adding the verm and mixing then testing moisture level and adjusting accordingly?

I'd probably save that for steam sterilizing grain bags.

How it works cannot be shown using coir because literally hydrating it is all that matters practically.
Everything else is a waste of time, all the time bagging up the substrate, all the time spent in the steamer.
It's as simple as add water, wait 15 mins, stir, from there the coir can be dumped into the tubs to be spawned as long as it's cool enough to handle.
Here I do 9 bricks and 18qts of verm at a time easily. Within 30 mins of dumping hot tap water tubs are getting spawned. Cannot beat it.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

it definitely won't sterilize anything, for sure can pasteurize but the steamer won't get hot enough for sterilization. I wish it would because i could sterilize like 50 jars or like 8 bags at once.

Damn man thats badass! I love that big ass mixer attachment. I guess i am paranoid and remember back in the day when frank horrigan used to preach on here how important pasteurizing is even with coir. I have honestly never tried to do it any other way. I will try my next tub without pasteurizing the substrate and see how it works for me. Thanks for the photos, we use the same tubs haha ill be back with some results

If you do want to get into bulk pasteurization; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17076834
Replace the Ronco with an Inkbird temp controller, and you're good to go.

I use Bod's tek. 10 gallon cooler. Two bricks. 6 quarts of boiling water. Leave it overnight. Boom, 8 quarts of pasteurized coir.
I've found faster colonization times with cooked / pasteurized coir than without, but honestly it's not necessary, and sterilization certainly isn't necessary.

Update, this tek works GREAT! Still pasteurizing even if its not necessary i am a firm believer in the fact that it may help and may eliminate contamination some (a) vectors.
