Well it’s been 2 weeks already, shouldn’t it be farther along than that and really spreading? Mycelium doesn’t look aggressive or anything, just kind of light and fluffy and sporadic. I thought two weeks would definitely be all colonized by now. How much longer should I wait these out? I’m not sure what to do, and just throwing them away seems like a waste to me. That’s why I’m doing the agar to see if I can get a better inoculation from it. My PF tek jars colonized way faster and more than this...

It’s only been like 6-7 days since you shook it right?
It does seem to be moving slowly but that could be due to seed prep or just slow myc. As long as it looks healthy it should be good.
I have one jar right now that’s almost a week in and the myc is barely off the agar, and I have another culture that just hit 100% at nine days.
Post another picture it’s been what four days since the last one right

I posted one yesterday when I was concerned and brought up about the sweatiness.
I guess it worries me that it is taking longer than my PF jars I used to do and growth doesn’t seem nearly as strong.

It doesn't seem to be colonizing uniformly, it's very scattered, and doesn't look like it is encompassing all grains. I don't know, it could be me, it's different from what I usually see. Usually my PF jars that I did would be fully colonized and everything would be covered. You're saying this is normal though and has happened to you?

Idk it’ll take another day or two to see what it does.
After shaking the growth always looks really patchy at first and combined with all that millet which colonizes weird its hard to tell

So does millet tend to colonize differently?

I don't know what to make of my millet jars, it seems like it's spreading, but it's just not the growth I'm used to seeing like my PF jars. You mentioned something in my about the weird way millet colonizes. Is this what you mean? What do you make of these jars? I feel like it is not encompassing every grain, I took pictures from all around and on top so you can see. Is this what it is supposed to be like and will still work? It seems like the growth and mycelium is more clumpy growing, but what do I know, this is my first time with grains. I’m used to seeing strong mycelial growth and everything would be white. What do you make of these millet jars?
