Working in a hospital for drugs.

Does anyone know how this happens and how often? I really don't want to start watching House.

Share experiences or jobs where access to medication or nitrous is easy.

When I was an SAT tutor in high school, I never failed to find some kinda goodies in the kids’ parents’ medicine cabinet.
That’s about it

I can't think of any situation where a haul of stolen pills is worth more than a decent healthcare job, but hey.

You don't need a medical job to get nitrous. Nitrous is legal and food grade nitrous tanks can be refilled.

Anything else it's pretty much on relative lockdown. My wife is a registered nurse. When we lived in Colorado, medicine thievery was not really a thing. She was pretty shocked to see how prevalent it was when we moved to Tennessee. People would be regularly fired and have their names blacklisted as potential employees from any healthcare system because they would take opiates from the carts.

We moved to a different state again in the last year and there are no pill stealing issues where we are at now. It's crazy how much local exposure to opiates can change it all.

My dad had severe physical issues and was on painkillers most his life. He got pretty close with one of the doctors he used to have and would go to his house sometimes. Apparently this guy used to leave parts of the doses of morphine he was supposed to give people in the vial and pocket the leftovers for himself. Idk if it's common but it definitely happens.

Well, become a nurse and you'll see how it's not easy. TV and movies make it look that way. I have had to pull the rest of the dregs out of a vial and shoot it into a sink in front of the DON/charge nurse and wash it down with water. These controlled substances/drugs are VERY closely watched and you'd be lucky if you found a pill on the ground, then there's nosocomial infection : A hospital-acquired infection (HAI), also known as a nosocomial infection, is an infection that is acquired in a hospital or other health care facility. To emphasize both hospital and non-hospital settings, it is sometimes instead called a health care–associated infection (HAI or HCAI

You want to risk that from random pills laying around on the floor?

How about you clean yourself up instead of finding new ways to end up in prison.

I worked for a hospital in a small town during the mid 90s.  The pharmacy was locked down like a bank vault but I often heard stories about people being busted for having sex in there.  Nitrous oxide wasn't one of the medical gases utilized by this hospital but I found a short, stubby tank of it once in one of the hospitals off-site storage buildings.  I swiped it and gave it to a chum of mine for a going away present.  I never saw him again.

As Patrickkn said nitrous is simple to get, you used to be able to buy cases of cartridges from Amazon and I think still can

As far as meds, I work in a group home where part of my job is med administration. Pocketing a pill or two would be simple work since most clients take so many, anything more than that you'd get caught. I've always wanted to have some trazadone around as an emergency trip killer, but can just order it from china if I want it that badly

Did the nitrous collapse his lungs or did he just not come back?

The nitrous was so old and transfused with the rustation of the metal bottle to become some kind of mutant gas that when he inhaled it he ballooned up and went straight into the stratosphere!

I wished!

Naw, he just never returned.  H e was really just a friend of a friend.  I do not recall his name but he resembled a super young Frasier Crane and had a forehead that stretched forever.

My uncle spent some time behind bars. He’s a registered nurse and got addicted to opiates. He was stealing drugs. He’s lucky he didn’t lose his career. He’s clean now and back at work, though he has restrictions and doesn’t earn nearly what he should.

I've never needed to abort a trip, and probably/hopefully will never go that route. Having some around would be a nice safety blanket though, especially when tripping with others. When I trip with my wife my biggest fear is her losing it and me being too far gone to do damage control, an "end" button could really help there

It's a 5-HT2A antagonist so much more effective than benzos, in theory. 150mg would likely bring you back to baseline pretty quickly. I have valiums but that takes far longer and dulls more than ends the trip

I don't like that they are SSRI's. I like to do MDMA still and my doc would not give me a lunesta script, he wanted to give me fucking trazadone for sleep! I said no. I just ordered etiz, I only use the lunesta and etiz for coming down off stims anyway, not regularly at all. I still wouldn't want a trazadone for coming down off mdma.

Yea trazodone would be a little overkill for an MDMA comedown, but it's really the top option for classic psychedelics if you need the trip over fast. For MDMA a moderate benzo dose seems like it'd be good, to come down gradually and get some sleep
