Found these beauties in a paddock that has been really productive in the past. The herd of cattle that were on there have been gone for about a year and a half. So that makes for a really interesting find today. It literally looks like the cubes were growing in about 6inches of grass that had been slashed a few weeks ago. So I'm assuming they grew through it from old manure underneath or manure was mixed in with the grass. You can see on the biggest specimen really thick mycellium almost resembling roots, so fascinating.

Habitat:
Northern NSW Australia, very wet at the moment. Pasture, mycellium growing through tall grass cuttings from recent slashing.

not going to fill out a full request, certain these are cubes just fascinated over the substrate

Cool find! I guess the substrate provided - thoroughly composted dung - is a premium
habitat for P. cubensis. You could try to keep some of that mycelium alive in culture.
