Decided to throw that very symmetrical Mars plate into the fridge before it outgrows the plate, and possibly send it straight to grain at a later date. When ahead and transferred three wedges from another Mars plate into Holy Grail containers.

Also transferred three wedges from Koh Samui plates. Had a harder time finding targets in these plates. Eventually decided to transfer one wedge from the most symmetrical of the plates (even though it's a bit patchy) and two from a particularly rhizomorphic sector in another plate.

Mexicana update
So I have some nice biopsy plates and pucks to play with. I already used one chunk from a puck to make a little slurry and poured to 50/50 coir and rye seed. Some were inoculated with a LI made from a plate (not the biopsy). I'm confident in the biopsy transfers I just made too so I should have a nice foothold on this grow.
Those are the biopsy plates I transferred from and a pf puck I'm growing out.

Took some more transfers from the cyan and cambo germ plates
The mycelium is looking a lot better this time around. I stopped going after the whispy growth and started looking for something that looked more like crons culture.
I'll have lots to choose from soon!
Pan cambo Only one spot looking good imo took a transfer

Pan cyan Lots of places to choose from I took two samples from this plate

Yeah 2 out of 4 are real fast but still going to spawn each jar to there own shoebox... just incase.
Your plates are looking good I probably woulda put that bottom left one to grain..And the one you got in the fridge is probably ready too. A few more transfers on the rest and you’ll be caught up in no time.

One jar, would that be to 3 or 4 coir qrts? I want to keep in separate shoeboxes also, but I'm worried about the spawn/substrate ratio. It's really warm here, I doubt if I can go more than 1:2. http://substratecalculator.weebly.com/?uom=1&shape=2&length=14&radius=0&width=8&depth=2&ratio=3&cc=100&verm=0&cg=0&g=0&hs=0&sd=0&hm=0&cm=0&chm=0&wc=0&o=0&hf=3
I'm thinking mebbe less depth, even down to 2"? So I can keep the ratio up. Lots of shrugs lately.

Oh yeah? Thanks! Guess I gotta keep developing my eye--I was a little suspicious of that blank section, thought maybe the myc was fighting something off. Anyway, I'm hopeful I'll be putting SOMETHING to grain here next weekend.

In a shoebox you should be able to go 1:1 or 1:1.5 spawn/substrate with 1 quart of spawn. Check out SFF Shoeboxes, amongst others.
EDIT: I just saw your substrate calculator link. Looks like the dimensions of the shoebox are right, so I'm not sure what I'm missing, but it doesn't seem right that you'd need 3 quarts of coir to get two inches of substrate depth.

For shoeboxes I use one quart of spawn and usually use enough coir to fill the box up to the line a couple inches below the top. I think it’s prob around 2 quarts but it works well, usually colonized in 5-7 days.

I usually do 1qt spawn 1.5qt coir with a top layer. So pretty much 1:2.

Was going to spawn the left jars today but I’ll wait till tomorrow just to make sure. It will be 14 days. The right ones are taking a little longer.

Well I thought I was taking some plates to my first set of bags tonight, but I guess it’s not a good idea to leave bags in the pc overnight. More than likely I didn’t have the oats as dry as I thought and that’s why I ended up with fuckton of condensation in them. Did the accordion fold and stacked them like every bag tek I read said.....back to the R of the R&D. Looks like tomorrow I’ll be making jars in the meantime until I can figure it out. It’s frustrating and discouraging at the same time, but I’m not giving up on them yet.

I feel that. I've gotten pretty jaded about this specific culture I'm working with. It (whatever it is), along with some bacterium/a have almost crept their way to fully colonizing a quart (A2G'd 1/19). I don't see myself doing anything but top fruiting it, and I have my doubts that'll even be successful. On my 5th transfer and it's still just maintaining this shite growth. Tried streaking new plates - same shit + pink bacterium. None of the original plates are pinning at all. To top it all off, my grow room (our spare/storage room) has been a total disaster for the past few weeks in lieu of doing some redesign elsewhere in the house... Desktop lives there, too, so it's been a task to get to - completely killing my motivation to make updates.
I have more Chitwan spores from a different vendor on the way, hopefully they are more viable and I can revamp this log with some new spunk. I'm feeling a fresh start altogether. Got some pan cyan myc at T1, looking fab (I think?) Got a few other new and exciting varieties I'm ready to put to agar. Just gotta go apeshit decluttering/cleaning my grow space - finish out whatever cultures I have growing right now (sans pans) - start anew... again.

Really wish I had tried g2g sooner.
Made a quarter quart of aa+ then split it into four jars.
This is less than two days in.

I think I may give this a shot before I go at a round of bags again. Got some sfd in the other day to transition my lids from poly. Bags do minimize the space taken, but I need to get through this bag of oats before going back to WBS.....such a PIA trying to get them dry enough for the bags.
