Panaeolus Cyanescens - Please confirm - SEQ
    #26477936 - 02/10/20 03:32 AM (4 years, 7 days ago)

This year, what I suspect are blue meanies are looking a little more tan than usual with a less overall blueing

The rain in SEQ has really set the gold tops off, here's the rest of the bounty

338g's of gold tops

Thanks for the help

Nice finds there sebben.

When I was out picking blue meanies the other day I found the same thing. I do believe though that some of them may actually have been panaeolus antillarum which look crazy similar. So being that the blue meanies are a little more tan like you say, was making it hard to distinguish. However it was a dead giveaway when the stems wouldn't turn blue.

Good work!

I see what looks like a mixed collection of Panaeolus cyanescens and Panaeolus papillionaceus.

Panaeolus cyanescens will bruise bluish

the Panaeolus papillionaceus will have reddish brown stems, 5 and 16 are what looks like papillionaceus but I am not certain, if they are bruising bluish they are cyanescens.
