Yeah save all those little plastic things that come in excedrine aspirin bottles and any silicate packets that are shipped with ant electronics...I just put them in a oven at 175 for about 45 minutes
I allways put a few of the plastic ones in the baggie when i give my friends some product to try out for me so it doesnt funk out before they try em out...Yes my friends do love me

what about just running down to a store and grabbing some dessicant. Ive heard its cheap and a quick easy way to dehydrate them. How does it work?

Not exactly funny.  Being 19, with a child, and your own apartment.  Stuff can start to really add up in cost.  Specially when I been spending money left and right on this cultivation, and have not made a penny back yet.  Bills comming up also.

Oh yea, did I forget to mention, I HAVE NO JOB.

Im 24, Im married (trust me its just like having a child), I have a house, 3 cars, and I have no problems spending money

epsom salt works too, i know yer broke but you might have it under you sink or in the garage, i never knew i had it and found some already at the house, still no idea where it came from

anyway bake it at 400F for 45mins the use like any other dessicant if you got it otherwise just leave them under a fan till there gone, if you try and store them after only fan drying they will get soggy in a bit :stoned:

actually went to Home Depot and they didn't have any... I guess it depends on the local climate weather they have products like Damp-rid or dry-z-air. They were however able to give me the name of a store that had some, but it was a wild goose chase.

I have found none of the above to be necessary, but this may well be because I have only dried P. subaeruginosa, quite a small shroom that dries quickly once picked, and temps don't get too low in Melbs/ my house has no moisture problems ('rising damp' etc)... Re the ACT (Australia) subs, I used to thread them onto a piece of cotton with a needle, and hang them in the closet for a few days... dried up beautifully. More recently, and now dabbling with the Melbourne variety, I simply cut the caps of and lay them out on unbleached/ untreated microwaved paper or cardboard (for prints), and cut the stems up a bit and lay them on paper as well, which seems to aid the drying process. Then I leave them in the oven (NOT ON!), cause the oven is a pretty sterile place if its clean and you run it for half an hour on hot first and let it cool... good for minimising contams on the prints. They dry up nicely in 3 or 4 days max... I then crumple/ 'mull' up the dried shrooms and stalks, and freeze them in an airtight container with a dessicant satchet ... they don't seem to lose any potency, that I can detect... this may help someone, but as I stress, may not work for other species (bigger, 'wetter') of shroom like those I've had in Indonesia and Thailand, for which the above advice to use a dessicator (like used for drying fruit etc) is prolly the best offered...
