Hollow stems and dense stems
    #26476582 - 02/09/20 08:44 AM (4 years, 8 days ago)

I've only been growing golden teachers for about 6 months now. One of my first bulk grows I spawned BRF to bulk. All my fruits were hollow. No problem. I took a tissue sample of the best fruit and put it to agar. 2 sectors grew out so I isolated both to new plates. I transferred both cultures to rye then bulk. Now all of my fruits are very dense and almost rock hard when dry. I harvested 102 g wet and dried up to be 29 g dry which is well under 90% water loss?. They are completely dehydrated from a 95 degree fruit dehydrater. The flush from the other culture is basicaly the same.
Any thoughts on why the stems were hollow and now dense? Or on the water% ?

Dehydrator should be set to 160-170

I've been dehydrating at 90-95 degrees for 48-54 hours without any issue. Any reason for the higher temp?
