16 days and I feel stuck, do I need to change anything?

I'm afraid maybe I tried to fruit too early, I have been keeping them in a 72-degree room, 12 hour light cycle, and misting lightly and fanning at least three times a day. At the very beginning I was having some mycelium metabolites, but those seem to have kind of slowed up a little bit. Is there something I need to be doing different or change? Everyday feels like groundhog day. Nothing has changed in a while lol. Any help is appreciated! Also I forgot to add I am fruiting them in a bag.

What kind of timeframe are we talking here? How long since you spawned them?

I just added a picture also, it didn't load the first time for some reason. It's been 16 days since I added my spawn to my substrate, and 7 days since I started fruiting conditions. I may have said incorrectly on my original post oh, I just went back and looked at a calendar.

It seems a bit bacterial to me, but dont take my word for it. Does it have any unusual odors? You should see pins soon... give it a week, two weeks tops. If the pins abort, then you know its bacterial for sure. Since you are fruiting in a bag, i thought i should mention that you should not touch the substrate much... you can damage the developing hyphal knots (early pins).

It smells good to me, very earthy , nothing moldy or strange. But we shall see I suppose

Be patient. The rustywhyte and some PE varieties can take 19-30 days to fruit. It wouldn’t hurt to throw a top layer of coir/verm on if nothing happens after a few more days. If day 7 in fruiting conditions wait it out. Sub looks dry to me and it may just be the conditions aren’t right. What variety is this?

They are Costa Ricans, I do have a sealed bag of casing I can add if I need to. I bought it when I bought the substrate, but a lot of people told me just to not use it, but I do have it if need be. I have two bags currently that I'm working on, I was thinking maybe add casing to one of them? I would rather have at least one bag fruit then none at all. You think I should add a casing layer or give it a few more days?

Give it a week and if nothing add a field capacity top layer.

This is what is in my premade casing mix, is this good to go? "The Shroom Supply casing mix is a non-nutritious blend of four choice ingredients: organic peat moss, coarse vermiculite, hydrated lime (for pH adjustment), and granular gypsum (supplementing the mix with calcium and sulfur—essential elements for fruit body formation)."
