slow colonization?
    #26475270 - 02/08/20 10:37 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

hey guys so I have a tub going right now I spawned 4 or 5 GT mushrooms with vermiculite and coco coir.its been 12 days and it hasn't fully colonized yet which had me a little worried but I've read it's taken some people a few weeks for it to fully colonize. There is no condensation on the inside so could it be too dry? I've kept the holes taped up and lid closed. is it normal to be taking this long? here are some pics thanks!!

Looks like you just got a lot of slow tomentose myc.

It depends on the spawn to sub ratio too.

Fruiting as soon as you spawn a tub is normal now so it won’t hurt to give it more air.

Can’t tell for sure from the pic but looks like it might be a little dry, does any of the myc have tiny water beads on it?

I was thinking the same thing there's no condensation on the walls and no beads of water on the mycelium. I was thinking of misting and opening the fae holes would that be a good idea?

Yes as long as you make sure it doesn’t dry out. It needs the tiny beads of water to trigger pinning.

I was getting mine way too wet when I first started, now I usually get the mister as fine as it’ll go then spray over the tub not into it so it rains down onto the surface.
