God, he went barreling down in a helicopter when he shouldn't of been there in the first place. This media circus is just going on and on.
Yeah it sucks. I can't imagine that way to die with your daughter with you but people and the news are treating him like a God or something. He played basketball and was really good at it. Great. Tired of this endless hero worship.

...he was probably the greatest athlete in the world for a time. Maybe not a literal metaphysical God, but as close to a god of human movement as there was at the time.
If you could helicopter around instead of sitting in traffic wasting hours upon hours of potential productivity wouldn't you take that risk? I would.

He inspired probably a majority of the current players in the league. The kids that were born in 90's and are playing now grew up watching Kobe do it better than anyone else. A lot of the current broadcasters and colour commentary guys played with or against him at some time. And Kobe was young, like he just retired. In basketball the players get old. You still see Dr. J, Michael, Magic, they all hang around and go to events and games and shit. No one ever expected that he would just not be there a day later.
He put a lot into the sport beyond just being good. But a lot of the attention and recognition is coming from the players and their respect for him, rather than pushing it down the casual fan's throat as the story of the year.

"pushing it down the casual fan's throat".
You got it right, twisting your post a bit. Endless Godlike worship. He played basketball, raped a women in Colorado, made it up to his wife with a million dollar ring, and won some championships.
Influenced many. I didn't respect him but everytime I turn on the t.v. for sports it is all about him. Fuck him. What is really important in life? Was his influence really all that good?
Yes he loved his family, great. He played basketball and was a champion, great. In the overall scheme of things in life and what is really important it doesn't matter to me. I regret him choosing that when told not to and taking his daughter with him, read the news dumb fucks. I would rather take a helicopter then L.A. traffic. No shit. I was born in Whittier. I get it. But even when the cops won't fly maybe one should be more careful. I guess Shaq really is superman and Kobe was just dumb and felt invincible.
Well nature has a say in life for everyone. No matter how good you are at basketball.

If you don't give a shit about Kobe, you don't give a shit about the modern NBA. Stick to the college ball games or Euroleague or some shit.

I know modern NBA and with a journalistic background, I research it and know it's history. Assumptions make asses of you and myself.
Sorry he died. It isn't lost on me or his daughter with him. Just how media has made this out to be like JFK just died. No. He was a great man in later life in my opinion but it sucks of course.
Priorities with human kind and where one's focus is. This is a lesser one IMO.

Didnāt they rename the all-star trophy after him too? I guess itās only fair considering how Team LeBron raped Team Gianis for the trophy on Sunday
