thank you, I mixed up the unknown Psilocybe pic this is it:

the microscopy pictures are correct, never seen the greenish chrysocystidia (I think that's what they are) in cubensis so I don't know what this is.

Killer microscopy pics and excellent P.cubensis specimen!! I love that you can see a striate margin.
Certainly the unknown is P.cubesnsis too no? chrysocystidia Did you sniff it?

Those pics look really cool. I just don't have 2 hours to enlarge them.
What's the one you have listed as unknown in the original post?

Still trying to figure it out, never seen anything like it before. This evening I will do more microscopy with fresh slides to be sure that it's not a contamination from the cyanescens.
edit: This invaded my dreams last night, the only thing I can think off is that I may not have cleaned my blade well enough and the tops of the chrysocystidia from the cyanescens transferred to the cubensis gill when I cut it. That's why I want to redo the slides

sent pictures to Alan Rockefeller, he thinks it's the blue staining of cubensis, but has asked me to double check the characteristics against those of cubensis to see if they match. Will post updates with microscopy pictures. if, Anyone's curious about what I used to mount the slides, it's water, not KOH, I have to make more KOH, but haven't had time to collect the wood ash to make it ( I hate to pay for what I can make).

Probably best to get KOH, as wood ash will have lots of other salts that could do unpredictable things.
Panaeolus subgenus Copelandia doesn't have chrysocystidia, it has metuloid pleurocystidia. Chrysocystidia is so named because it turns yellow in KOH and has dark globular inclusions. You'll see it in Hypholoma and Stropharia.

Thank you for clarifying, I couldn't remember the correct name and when I referenced it, either I miss read or it was a bad reference I was using.

Looks like there is a spore ring next to where the remains could be a slightly purple residue. This looks like a very very hardy cubensis to me matter of fact it looks ghostly like it came out of a trip itself
