Could PE blobs be a form of sclerotia?

I'm growing PE for the 1st time (actually, I'm growing a number of strains for the 1st time!), and the PE blobs bear a resemblance to sclerotia. I'm not a scientist, but could they be the same type of structure?

No. Sclerotia grows underground. Blobs are a gentic anomaly.

I'm not saying that they're exactly the same. I meant that their occurrence seems more a rule than an anomaly, so the 'blobs' may have some purpose? Do they ever fall off on their own?

Blobs have something to do with nutrient levels and consolidation time. If you use a ton of spawn and fruit it right away it’ll prob blob even with a casing.
I just saw a thread where somebody cut a blob up under a microscope and it’s just a big ball of mutated mycelia.
I think sclerotia type growth are normally to survive harsh conditions like freezes and fire, at least that’s how plants do things.
You also have to keep in mind PE was bred for mutations, it’s not a normal mushroom.

PE was bred for mutations? Gotta think about that one....in the mean time, the blobs are as potent as the regular fruits? Cool....

That’s the story at least.
I haven’t tried blobs myself yet but a lot of people say they’re even stronger than the mushrooms.

No they're just fruits that didn't get the message about how to grow. Sometimes blobs get huge but they always have the same potency as fruits. I've seen them on other varieties too (Wild Texan particularly).

As if on cue, the 2 largest blobs on the same brf are lifting off the surface of the cake. No idea what to expect here. How does the potency of these blobs likely compare to other cube strains? Thanks!
