High, Wide but not deep fruiting tent on wall
    #26471880 - 02/06/20 11:41 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

I would like to create shelves out of pvc piping, which will be basically just two pipes holding bags. The shelving will reach top to bottom on one wall, left to right. It will be a whole wall, but it will only be 1 or 2 bags deep.

So I will have a tent, which is very high, very wide, but not very deep. It will be about 5m wide, 2.5m high, 50cm deep. The tent will be bag to bag with some space in between, but not much.

The shelf will be encompassed by plastic, which will act as a tent. There will be a ventilator on the top right corner sucking air out, and there will be an air hole for air intake on the opposite corner (bottom left).

For RH I will use a sonic humidifier.

What is the problem with this design? What will be the most likely challenge? Water accumulating at the bottom and needing constant cleaning?

My aim is to produce a significant amount of product in my own flat, while being efficient with my space. I don't have a lot of 3d room, but I have pleanty of walls. I hope to be able to produce some income at first on a small scale this way, before getting a place solely dedicated to cultivation.

I would put the hole sucking out at the bottom if you can. Spores and co2 will fall so it is best to have air going out on the bottom. Make sure you put a circulation fan in there. It will keep stagnated air from building up around the mushrooms. Make sure the fan is not blowing directly on the mushrooms. You just want it moving air around. My floor is always a little wet no way to avoid that. I don't like the pond foggers you are talking about I went through 2 in 6 months at $300 each. Then I built a high-pressure mister for a couple of hundred dollars from a pressure washer that has been going for a couple of years with no maintenance. You need air to be able to circulate through the bags so don't put them to close together. I am sure you will have some other problems but you will just have to deal with them as they come up. I would leave the exhaust fan on 24/7 or you will smother the mushrooms you have a small space.

Thank you for your input.
What about heat production? Will this ever become a problem or is this just a meme?
You have your high pressure mister connected to your water pipe, so you are constantly adding water? Where does the water go?

Everyone's situation will be different with heat. So like I said you will have to deal with it if it is a problem. Growing the right mushrooms at the right time of year for you will help a lot. I grow a lot of Amycel 3015 which does well in a wide variety of temps.

I use a humidity controller so when the humidity drops it cuts on my misters. I am in the process of switching over to an Arduino controlled system as we speak. I actually just bought 10 boards that I designed so I have 9 extra boards if anyone needs a humidity controller let me know we can work something out.

These two videos show my set up when I made my tek on the high-pressure system...

that's a great setup, I did check out your teks on it too. I won't be able to implement that in my current flat, as my grow room is pretty far away from any water pipes, but its definitely something for the next level, if I ever reach it. How much product are you able to produce on a monthly basis with this room?

I have the potential to do at least 480 LBS a week in the room. But I have not been serious until now. Everything is set up to really get things flowing this year. If things go well I have over 20 times the space to expand my fruiting chamber. The problem is not growing it is selling at this point.

If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. I like to help other people prosper.
