I went out this weekend to hunt along Bull Run and nothing but ticks. A lot of ticks. Wayyy too many ticks. I pulled a half dozen off me then watched a crowd of protesters get tear gassed.

These were little. Probably hit a spot where an egg just hatched.

wouldn't bother me any, I don't eat meat  Heck, I've been pulling attached ticks off my ass left and right as of late! I get bit no less than 50 time a season, so I'm sure I have every syndrome or disease  that those little buggers carry

Im a hairy dude so i can feel em craeling on me and pick em off before they bite me. Only had to pull a few out this season, in oretty sure if you get them within a few hourd the risk of lyme and other disease is low

Yeah, I've had some on for days though. Normally I feel them and flick them off,but those little tiny ticks, sometimes get passed me, and if it's in a not well to part on my body, they can allude me for days. That is, until the intense itching and big red mark finally alerts me to their presence.

I was in the brush right next to the trail picking some mushrooms this morning when a young couple walked by and asked what I was doing. I said I was just taking pictures (which I was) and the guy responded back, "I thought maybe you were looking for healing herbs or something." I'm sure they were chill but it was still really awkward. Especially since I had the "I'm looking for morels" explanation in my head already but flubbed when I needed it.

Yeah if you get them off in a few hours they can't really transmit any diseases. And yes it doesn't bother me much either, I've always tried to stay away from red meat generally anyways. I just didn't know what to say to my roommate when I ate his beef wellington and nearly died 6 hours later lol

The other day this white van pulled up to where i was picking and i saw flashes coming from it i was sure it was the cops taking pictures. Then this dude, his girl, and 7 kids jumped out the back all carrying grocery bags.  They walked right past me and started picking didnt say a word...

How the fuck am I supposed to compete with child slaves..

Thunderstorms rolled hard through SEPA last night! Finally got some rain.

The Mazatec people of central Mexico call their native psychoactive fungi "children of the lightning" because they would erupt suddenly from landslides after heavy storms.

Wel,l this morning brought us some local children of the lightning...this spot had one small group of 3 of pins on Tuesday when I checked it, today I left with 64 grams!

Late season chonkers:

Voids, they were picking voids. For some reason i always see people at that spot. Usually teenagers or drug addicts first time ive seen someone take the whole fam.  Got to teach em young i guess. Dont think i would trust a child to properly identify mushrooms, they really cant fully understand the consequences of a mistake.

Damn I just looked at the tick bite from the other day and something funky is going on. It was a tiny tick and I got it within 12 hours but I got a red rash spreading out from the bite.
