you gotta zoom in but these Jersey girls got some nipples. I really hope these pins turn into something beautiful before they dry up. There were 6 full grown ones under a branch just to the right of this pic. I couldn't just leave them and I also didn't see the point of having the fan running and wasting Damp Rid on only 6 fruits. So, it's hard to type. I keep giggling. Don't forget to breath. Sorry this isn't a trip report just a ramble lol

First time posting here. I’ve been an amateur mushroom hunter for a few years, mainly looking for choice edibles (morels, chanterelles, etc.). I’ve also done shrooms a bunch years ago but never thought much about foraging for them. I recently watched a lecture about psychoactive fungi in the NYC region and today was hiking in Northern Jersey when I found a few large clusters of what I think are psilocybe ovoideocystidiata growing on wood chips. I’d love some feedback.

Only got out for 10 mins today but made some cool finds. Plenty of pins no sign of slowing down just alot harder to hunt now with the vegetation. The spots in direct sun stopped fruiting only finding clusters in shady spots underneath plants and deirbs. Gotta have a stick this time of year.

Hell yeah! Always check under those plants. Some of the biggest clusters hide under the bushes

I actually found a whole cluster of monsters like that groein invitro style in a log. I got to them too late and deemed them unfit for human consumption. the heat causes them to grow like that. The mushroom in the previous post was 50g after i cleaned the dirt off. That cluster from in a log was over 2lbs. I used it as spawn for a patch. Its hard to tell but those mushrooms are huge just covered in dirt.

Regrettably, I've been too busy this past week to go out. I feel like I'm missing out. But my schedule will clear up next week so I'm hoping for a few more finds. Although last time I went out, the vegetation was so gnarly thick that I almost decided I was done for the year.
But I did want to share this. I buried some stem butts with a little bit of colonized mulch and some wood chips a couple weeks ago and this popped up two days ago. There's also a tiny little pin riding along side him that you can't see. I was never expecting this to happen. Mostly just a cool little experiment. A bunch of other assorted seeds and stuff mixed in with the mulch have started to grow. There seems to be some sort of maple tree sprouting.

Also what is the best way to start my own patch. Ive heard something about cardboard, woodchips and just watering the patch....? I brought home some of the sticks and a few woodchips the mycelium was eating? Thanks for the help guys.

Welp this cold front has totally flaked out and no rain in the ten day so stick a fork in this season. I found a couple stragglers the other day but even they were almost too far gone and turned black on drying.
