Ah yes I believe you are right. Google showed me these upon typing that in. Thank you. Literally were the only mushrooms I saw at all in these parts so far. I have patience though.

I don't go out when there is any rain, because of the chance of thunder and lighting.
It never used to bother me until I got hit two times!
I didn't take direct hits, but I got the shit zapped out of me badly!
I'm now deathly afraid of it, and will not go out when thunderstorms are in the forecast.
Maybe the rain will stop, and I can go later on today.

Totally Understand That Fear I Am The Same Way. I Got Caught Out In The Bay During A Lightning Storm In A 14 Ft Aluminum John Boat. I Was Scared To Death, I Was In This "Acceptance Of Death" Mode Trying To Get The Boat Out Of The Water & Back On The Trailer.

Not direct hits, but one time it was raining and storming at Hurricane status back when I resided in Florida, and I was trying to get my dog in out from under my trailer.
Well, I was leaning down with my hand on my chain link fence, and out of nowhere BOOM!
Lighting struck something nearby and the charge went up through the fence, and zapped the hell out of me.
At first I thought that I had died and my whole body was ringing, burning, and tingling bad!
I remained out of it for the rest of the day, and I was never the same again.
The second time I got zapped was when I was out in my yard trying to get my sun drying tomatoes in before a bad storm, and out of nowhere a bolt of lighting stuck, and the charge passed through the metal pan that I was holding full of tomatoes!
It blew that shit right out of my hand and again I got zapped again with tingling and burning.
No amount of mushrooms, or anything else will ever have me outside during or before a storm, again ever!
You know what they say, third times the charm, and I'm not getting that third strike of death for nothing
It seems to be clearing up, so I'm going to go ahead and go check, wish me luck!

Well, five hours later, and I didn't find too many
I believe that I was way too late, because there were lots of people out there wandering the woods, and one freaking idiot let is big old dog run up on me and it tried to attack me!
Luckily I swung my big walking stick at that beast and it fled.
I know they were looking for mushrooms too, because they were standing around watching me pick my spots, then directly after I walked to another spot, they headed straight to where I was and looked around.
If only I had been there earlier that dang morning!
On a side note, I acquired a grip of myclellium, to start my own patch
What would be the best way to keep it alive and growing?

I’m in Manassas/Centreville, Va. Do these habitat pics look good? Any suggestions on which area/park/river/stream to look in nearby would be appreciated

The fastest and most effective method to start a new patch, involves transplanting a portion of yhe mycelium that has pins. You want to keep the mycelium network intact. I do this by removing as large of a section as I can without distributing the pins. Place these clumps of pins and myc in a cardboard tray. Take the tray and place it into a new mulch bed that gets adequate water, heat, and shade. This will allow you to have instant results as compared to waiting and entire season for stembutts. Good luck brother

I went hunting in MD once and those blue flowers are straight from hell. I gave my wife some flowers I picked and hundreds of ticks craawled out from in them i guess they breed in there or some shit. Other than that I would say not bad, hunt further from the water a little tho
