Yeah youd be more than likely to find caerulescens in a fine forest than ovoids.

Windy days terrible for fruiting. Not many in a reliable early spot this morn.

In regards to water source. Does fresh water or salt water have a difference? I have an inter coastal water way that is in a flood plain that I think is salt water...

Must be fresh. Anywhere theres salt or brackish water is too close to the coast. Go inland.

Agreed. And in 6 hours we saw no other humans.
Saw a bald eagle hunting the river, jumped a gaggle of whitetail deer, we were just a few mins behind a black bear judging by the steaming pile of his poo near his bed, and watched three crows hassling a hawk on the wing.
It was peaceful af.

Kentucky? That’s nowhere near central Virginia. He’s closer to New York City than Kentucky

Really nothing new to speak of except a couple patches in a dried up creek bed, but we didnt check the main early spot that we cleaned up last weekend.
The three consecutive windy days after that half inch of rain this past week did no favors toward getting a good flush going. All pins we found were desiccated and had aborted.

Psilocybe caerulipes grow on slopes. Ovoids stick to the bottom lands and the runoff areas. Box Elders! I find caerulipes about 100 yards from where ovoids grow in an area I frequently hunt.. but up on the hillside. Lots of beech. caerulipes have a very short season whereas I’ve found ovoids during every season
