H.erinaceus doesn't want to Colonize Oak Fuel Pellets :(
    #26469928 - 02/05/20 09:12 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Hey guys! i recently tried growing Hericium erinaceus for the first time.
I spawned healthy white millet spawn to 3 bags of sterilized oak fuel pellets.

I used the same batch of fuel pellets to spawn 3 bags of Trametes versicolor, and 3 bags of Lentinula edodes on the same day and they all quickly colonized like Normal! However my Hericium bags all put out a little mycelium around the grains, invitro fruited, and then completely stopped! They have looked exactly like this for over a month after all the other bags finished colonizing. :O

Did I do something obviously wrong? What do you reccommend I do with them at this point? No visible Contams of any kind

Thank you!! :super:

If you're quite sure you didn't use too much water, what happened was it WAS colonized and you didn't notice.  Hericium does that.  Mycelium is so thin and wispy you don't think it's colonized, but it is.  Then it starts fruiting invitro as you see there.

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them?  Try this double extraction method.
