First pickings ever... Stumpy little buggers. 1

So this is my first grow, and I've started picking the first fruits today. They are stumpy little mushrooms, but pretty thick and dense. Two tubs of a different mycelium (same as each other) didn't grow fruits at all so I'm glad I did this one as a backup. These are spore syringe to agar transferred once, then no blend L.I. injected into rye corn spawn bags. Rye corn is a type of rye, but smaller. Substrate is straight coco coir, and gypsum. Unmodified tub. All criticism welcome.

I didn't measure either, temp or R.H. Just kept them inside and warm as possible with ambient sunlight. Temps fluctuated quite a bit, and kept misting them so they didn't dry out.

Fluctuations in either might result in stumpier fruits or possibly caused them to develop irregularly. You have a nice looking pinset, maybe they were too wet? Hard to know without data.
I find that tracking factors greatly helps in learning what works for your set up and producing the most optimal fruits. You could invest in a low cost hygrometer if you want to go that route.
They are certainly edible, so congrats on your first grow!

Probably not the right place to post this and by jacking the OP’s thread?
I’m no mod, but maybe start a new post in the “Getting Started” or “Marketplace” forum when you qualify for the parameters.
Also, check out the Shroomery Sponsors for reliable vendors.

I too had some fruits like this (see my journal). After checking out what proper field capacity is, I think my tub was too wet. Also mirroring what Maylink said, I also had cold night temps.

Cheers fella's I'm happy with any decent result, so there is that. Temps fluctuate quite a bit where I live, air con one day, and heater the next. I did get field capacity with the coir, but I am completely new to this so experts may say otherwise. Nest time I'll try a bit harder at controlling their environment and measure humidity, and I'll check out your journal Kimble... Cheers.
