    #26468961 - 02/04/20 05:56 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

hello so based on this topic/research(which is like 9years ago)

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12771785/fpart/1/vc/1

i'm just wondering if i wanna follow a brf tek , can i just use this instead?

can i still do only streaming instead of pressure cooking?

Just do brown rice flour. Can't find flour? Run dry brown rice in a blender till its dust, same thing

:whathesaid: I also dont see why the post your referencing wouldn't work as well. But for me I could only find Bob's red mill brown rice flour and it was pretty costly. Then I was using my knockoff bullet blender for a smoothie one day and it dawned on me I can make my own brf. And you can surely just steam when making brf cakes. That's what I did when I started out and didn't want to invest to much in a hobby I wasn't sure I would stay involved with.
When and if you move onto grains and quart jars I would highly recommend getting a pressure cooker. While I dont grow anymore my pressure cooker has served me well. You can broast the shit out of some chicken in it as well as canning etc. You can go through my pics and see my very first grows and equipment used. It was minimal, but very effective and I never had any contamination.

I think (am not 100%) that rice bran is the outer husk or coating of the rice, it is the brown, of brown rice. It would be interesting to test this out and see what the results are...

it is.  it wont have nearly the same amnt of nutes.  I've used bleached wheat flour, buckwheat, and pancake mix to make cakes before with success.  just make some BRF cakes 1st so u can compare the consistency which is the important part to get right when adjusting the recipe to different flour types
