The original cube, or different.

When it comes to varieties of original genetics, coming from big vendors, how do they do it? Let’s say you purchased a B+ spore syringe 8 years ago. Then recently you buy the same variety. How consistent will the 2 syringes be? Do they keep replicating the same variety with the original genetics Or change it up like going down a family lineage and find better varieties in that lineage and so it all keeps evolving?

They mostly just buy them from people. It's not really guaranteed that they check what they buy.
But it doesn't really matter.

I disagree with that lol. So the original cube is long gone? How do they keep it consistent looking then?

This might help, and read the second section (about Strain and Variety):

An excellent question. Does multispore genetics stay consistent over time? Or do they "drift" in one direction or another?
I recently saw a "PF Classic" spore syringe. You know thats classic! But how identical is it to the same strain about 10-20 years ago? Thats a tough question to answer.

I had a b+ syringe that gave me regular, albino, luecastic (sp?), melmac and UFO looking fruits all in the same cakes from the same ms syringe. I've also bought the same bpk syringe from 2 different vendors and got 2 different fruits in look, strength and weirdness of the trip.
I found 2 different patches of ovoid in the wild not 150 yards from each other they were very different in girth, color tone, strength, ect.
So anecdotally I think the genect information is different enough to where it's basically just branding except isolation like pe, tidal wave, Lucy, and albino.

I'd think it depends on the grower selecting for prints. If you spend 20 yrs selecting the tallest fruit of a variety that tends to be stubby, it's gonna be different at the end of it.

Even within one variety is crazy.
I’ve had four distinct phenotypes come up from the same PE syringe, two were the same shoebox first flush all one type second flush all a totally different looking type.
I wondered about this too because when I first started and was reading 10 year old threads the quality of ms grows was pretty bad, and got consistently better over time. Now idk how much is better growing technique but I totally botched my first ms grow and still got a canopy so I think they’ve definitely evolved the lineages over time to be much stronger.
