How long can jars colonize??

So I read a theory on here that jars that colonize over a month can grow in potently. I know it was a theory but I am a beginner. So I made way to many jars that I can’t grow them all at once as I thought I would lose a lot to contamination. My question is what is a shelf life for a colonized jar and as you can see in pic my jars a month old are growing mushrooms In them so are they basically ruined now. How can I preserve the life in a colonized jar as well. I know it’s a few questions but all help appreciated and I do realize it’s a great problem to have lol.

Pinning mycelium will expand fine, it may be degraded by age, but I've spawned many bags with pins with good results. No need to remove fruits.
I don't think anyone can give you a strait answer to number of weeks they can sit over colonized but it's a fair amount of time, longer than one may think.
To slow/store the jar you can put it in the fridge.
As far as I know there's no proof of consolidation (over colonization) will increase potency, I think I saw the thread you saw too though, it was more of a random idea than proof if I'm remembering correctly.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

I appreciate the answer. Yea I figure it was a theory but reading it gave me the idea jars can last colonized for long period of times. I don’t think jars can last that long colonized as mine are less then 5 weeks from grain to grain transfer and pinning. I have plenty but would like to keep them good rather then making new since I took the time to get them this far. I rather get rid of degraded spawn and use whats good before it degrades. Thanks again really helped

They had a bunch of anecdotal evidence that letting your sub consolidate increased potency, but not as much with spawn.
So if you were to throw coir on top of the jar and top fruit it would supposedly have a good chance of producing stronger shrooms, but once you break it up and mix with coir it resets for some reason. At least that’s what the theory was in the threads I saw.
I just birthed a 100 day old brf cake myself to try it out.

I was under the impression the theory behind it was that the longer its able to consume the nutrients youve provided the mycelium has more time to break them down and then distribute it when it comes time to fruiting, but also that potency is mainly genetics

Several Points:
That jar is not wasted. You can add coir to the top and fruit it right in the jar.
Alot of testing with isolated or cloned fruits and a control would be needed to prove consolidation vs full growth increase potency and even that is anecdotal without measuring the psilocybin in a lab setting.
So say once colonized move too cooler temps like 45 in a fridge, I can't say, haven't done it with spawn. Spawn needs to be spawned!
