Downtown Milwaukee you could afford all that. You could live in Chicago in a meh area
Milwaukee suburbs you'd be living like a little skinny rich king

Some people just don't know and will never get it. They are of the mindset that one should not buy or do ANYTHING out of their budget, basically not live at all and just work to get to a certain place or go to school to get to a certain place etc...not everyone can or wants to be "on top/in charge" etc...*sigh*
Now if 2 people combined their wages it might work a LOT better.

Honest days wage honest days work. After tax looking at 525ish a week. 2100 a month. That's renting a nice ass place, payment on a brand new car, internet, phone, drugs, alcohol, and going out money.
Not even close to a livable wage in most cities, but I know it’s good money in rural areas. Thing is, how many Amazon warehouses are in the boonies?
$2000/month doesn’t even cover rent+bills in some places. And poor people tend to have more kids, which make other expenses seem like a joke...but that’s a whole ‘bother topic I suppose.
And not 525/week after taxes btw. Even if they’re taxed at just 20%, that’s $480. I know for a fact that 40h at 22/h gets you $590 at the end of the week

That rent is absurd and $200 is stretching it for a month unless you’re talking saltines and rice.

Plus you’re leaving out what comes with the territory like car insurance, gas and stuff like if you enjoy wearing socks and whatnot. I fully understand what you’re suggesting though. It’s just not feasable.

I spent 75-150 a week on myself for groceries/food, but I'm a self spoiler type.
And poor people tend to have more kids, which make other expenses seem like a joke...but that’s a whole ‘bother topic I suppose.
They really fuck themselves over this way, I will NEVER understand this! It's like that movie "Idiocracy" is coming true!

Whaaaat planet are you on lol
Not saying you’re lying, but you must be next door to the middle of nowhere.
In NY, insurance on a first car is gonna be at LEAST $500/month, even on a Prius and with no accidents on your record. The bus is $3
Here’s an average 2bdr apartment in Brooklyn: https://www.apartments.com/shamco-apartments-1901-dorchester-rd-brooklyn-ny/er6v24n/ I was super happy to snag a tiny studio for 1,400.
Keep in mind, Brooklyn isn’t the most expensive area in the country, or even the state...

here the bus is only $1.25 with an RFID chip or $2.25 if you pay cash, but theres only 1 bus that covers 2 routes, its great if you wanna go to walmart or the mall, but most places you need to get a cab, which has a $9 flat rate, I give them a $10 though
