This part is fucked up. I multi billion dollar company doesn't care about humans because they simply do not have to, and this is very fucked up, but hey, it's just business. If they didn't do it, someone else would/will.It will NEVER end as long as a corp is seen as a human entity by those laws. BUT, try to change ANYTHING that makes a company/corp take less while still reeling in big profits, and you're a communist/socialist, lol.
The darker side of this is that Amazon actually seems to actually prefer its high turnover rates— offering warehouse workers between $2,000 and $5,000 to walk out the door after a few years of service, with the caveat that they can never work for the e-commerce giant again.
“Most companies try to reduce their turnover, but when we started to look into this, we were like that’s not what Amazon is trying to do,” said Irene Tung, one of the report’s authors told Motherboard. “They’ve made a decision to have an extreme pace of work and they need a stream of new workers for a short period of time. Amazon has figured out that that’s how they maintain ultra high productivity metrics.”
Bodhi siad: Come to work dressed like hookers or amateur rappers, come to work hungover, etc..
You should have seen the people who came in to get restaurant/bar jobs in NOLA back in 2001 when I was there, it's pretty much true. People do want a lot for less work, but I think the incentive of higher pay might bring in more people that are more reliable, but I don't study this stuff, nor do I work at a warehouse.

I was at an Amazon facility yesterday and I’ve got to go to a different one this afternoon. They’ve got an insane amount of money to throw at projects.
Their footprint is only getting bigger.

One of the engineers was telling me their ultimate goal is same day delivery.
Like you hit the purchase button and your package just comes tumbling up to your front door.

I ordered a weighted blanket from Amazon and it came super fast, I think I ordered it late on a wednesday and it arrived friday, I thought they tricked me into ordering a free trial of prime, cause they try to do that, but no I just got 2 day delivery on a normal purchase

They'd quit 20 minutes into roofing with me. 25/hr cash most people can't even carry a bundle of shingles up a ladder with that wage in their face

I helped someone with roofing once, he hired some guy who was afraid to climb the ladder at all, so he got me instead, I was scared shitless of the ladder too though, the only reason I climbed it is cause he had tied it off at the top when he first went up
I wouldnt be able climb the ladder with shingles though, im pretty weak I think id need both hands to even carry a pack of shingles, but he already had the shingles on the roof when I arrived
I almost fell off the roof too, I tried taking a step back, and then noticed I was right on the edge
I hate working at heights

Well shiiiit For 25/h cash, you’re entitled to expect hard work. I wish someone offered me that...
But Amazon employees making 15/h (11-12 after tax?) have no incentive to work hard. There’s no Senior Warehouse Packer position opening up soon lol. Maybe they have incentive to save for education, or to look for better work, but they can get another min wage job anytime🤷🏻♂️

15/hr is what an EMT makes starting out. You want to be responsible for driving an ambulance and pumping someone's chest? Amazon employees start off highly overpaid

I’d rather be an EMT. At least it has a purpose and means something.
My problem with Amazon isn’t the work so much as it’s treating their employees like shit. All those major names, Walmart is another. Fuck those places.
Pretty much anything that makes this place one step closer to being China..

That’s not the conclusion I make from that. It seems to me that EMT workers are highly UNDERpaid.

Being a lazy ass graphic designer is great, I make 75/hr to sit on my butt and google image things and take big lines of K between the search times
caveat is that work comes like a few times a week

Freelance? Cause hourly wages don’t apply when you spend hours networking for clients...
If not, my hat’s off to you, sir. 75/h is amazing for any job that doesn’t require a master’s and 20 years of experience.

15/hr is well above poverty wage and being an EMT is entry level a job for people 20-30
Honest days wage honest days work. After tax looking at 525ish a week. 2100 a month. That's renting a nice ass place, payment on a brand new car, internet, phone, drugs, alcohol, and going out money.

I was making 52,000.00 cash a year after taxes just waiting tables the last year I did it, made 57, and worked 32-38 hours a week. Probably more for the cash I didn't report, like all waiters report ALL their cash, lol! It was an "upscale" place though. You pretty much have to have a few years experience to get in those places. My brother always did the roofing, carpentry, pool sandblasting, hot tar roofing, etc... fuck that shit! I stayed inside and got free food and drinks. Waiting is a hard job in the respect of grovelling and humiliating oneself. I'll take that over ANY manual labor ANY fucking day of the week, don't have to now though.
