Humidity in SGFC

Hello!
I'm new to growing shrooms and so far it's been a really exciting journey getting into this new hobby!
I don't know if this is a silly question but I have nocced some BRF jars as I was going down the PF -Tek route for my first grow and so far it's coming along well.
I'm now beginning to think about making a SGFC but have been reading a lot about difficulty maintaining humidity and constant fanning which got me thinking. Has anyone tried putting one of those small essential oil diffusers in the chamber(No oils obviously:) just water) to give a regular humidity top-up? Would doing so mean I could add more/larger holes for FAE to avoid constant fanning? As a beginner, it seems the process can be easily automated if connected to a humidistat. I don't know if it's a mad idea that just won't work or if it's even been tried before but maybe you guys can enlighten me into the feasibility of such a setup.
I know I could spawn to bulk but I want to try and minimize the risk of contams for my first grow as I'll only have 7 cakes if these colonize with success.
Cheers

Some people put their trays in cheap greenhouses with automatic humidifiers and have great success. Greenhouse Tek.
If you're doing grows at the scale of SGFCs but don't want the daily upkeep than you might want to take a look at monotubs. Monotub Tek.
I'm a newbie but have never heard about what you are describing. From what I've heard if you are looking for success in mycology it's best not to go off the beaten path.

Cheers for the advice and links cattledog! I'll be sure to give them a good read over in full! From what I can see at a quick glance what I was describing would appear to be a very scaled-down countertop version of the Greenhouse Tek you provided a link for that uses BRF cakes in SGF style chamber for passive instead of active FAE. I'm looking for an almost set and forget method for fruiting BRF cakes ideally.
Wise words! I might put it on the back burner for now as I don't want to mess up my first grow but definitely food for thought for a future grow perhaps:). Thanks

I would highly recommend against using a sgfc. They are a ton of work and the cakes have much lower yields than if you were to just spawn them in trays.

This thread has a lot of good information on making shoeboxes and it is quite simple going from a BRF cake to a tray. I have done it plenty of times and it works great

my first solo grow was done with cakes spawned to trays. made me feel like a big man
bbbbbbut a big bonus of cakes is keeping the myc whole. making spore inoculations less risky(for noobs). spawning them completely defeats said bonus. which is a good point imo but spawning is worth the risk and moldy cakes are really obvious.

The man himself, you have helped me greatly throughout my mushcult adventure. There are certainly some upsides to SGFC cake method, I just think they're outweighed by the potential of trays.
Also to actually answer the question of the thread, automating the misting is not a good idea. You only need to mist the cakes when they look like they need it and it's not always going to be on a set schedule that you can automate.
