At a loss, suggested next steps
    #26466086 - 02/02/20 10:59 PM (4 years, 14 days ago)

Second round of cultivation starting from spores. First time around was a huge success, get plenty of fruit and no contams so was super happy. However, that was in the summer time when the temperature was great, humidity was up, etc. Now, being in the dead of winter and in an apartment, I have very limited capabilities of creating any sort of microclimate for my shoeboxes. At this point, I'm at over a month since I set up the shoeboxes and havent had ANY yield except one loan mushroom.

I've misted, kept lids on(now bags as of todslay) and just havent been having luck. I'm almost certain a lot of it is coming down to temperature (66 at night, no higher than 70 during the day) but there isnt a great deal I can do about that.

Now, I have a few fruits, but it appears like they may have started growing some cobweb mold. I know fruits can get a little fuzzy on the bottoms, but I havent seena anything where they do on the caps. Thoughts on what I'm looking at? Also, suggestions on cultivating? At this point, I may try to push it out with these shoeboxes but just stop cultivating till its warm again.

Your temps are within recommended tolerances, i dip to 59 lows and avoid any higher than 74-76.
growth is slower at lower temps often resulting in denser fruits and also slow down contams.
i use one incandescent 40w bulb in my lighting set up along with LEDs, the wave length of that carries heat radiation thaat does sumthin when it shines on stuff.
i dont worry about temps tho unless its over 86 or below 52.
i had a rough second go as well, first tub/first flush of second season ONE lone fruit exact center of sub.humbling...
first was success beyond expectations.
good luck!

Trust me waiting till it gets warm won't help. I've been waiting for it to cool off all year lol.  Clean spawn is all you need. If that's a clone go back to MS. If it's MS keep hunting till you get some good clusters to clone. But never stop cultivating!!!

Looks like trich.
You said you started with spores. If you meant from a syringe to grain, this is likely. Do what you must to get clean spawn.

Temps only effect speed of growth till you get above 75 where alsorts of weird stuff can happen.

These tubs look like they ar efruiting due to contamination.  If you know agar clone some of these fruits...... Its fun and the results are amazing

Good to know temp is not as serious as I thought. Yeah, syringe to BRF (only using BRF because I have a lot of it.) Been using these instructions/tek https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25008651/fpart/all/vc/1

Any suggestions if it is trich? As of today, I dont see any green or rapid growth. Only discoloration is the bottom left of the second picture, roughly same color. I've read that a mix of peroxide and water could do the trick. Also, any suggestions on grow space? I live in an apartment, so space is very limited which really sucks. I don't have the luxury of devoting a spot just for my grows.
