SF Bay Area: Eye Candy - adtl species seen on hunts * 1
    #26466105 - 02/02/20 11:18 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

While I've been searching for Ps. Cyanscens - I've found some interesting fungi along the way.  Thought there might be others that would enjoy seeing some of the variety.

1) Blewit or Cortinarius sp.
2) Agaricus sp. Would need to see/know more about it to be more specific.
3) Looks like it has a volva, which would likely make it an Amanita species.
4) same as #1
5) Stropharia ambigua.
8) Armillaria mellea i think.
11) Ganoderma brownii
15) Likely Armillaria as well.
16) looks like Gymnopilus but only based on appearance of the cap. Would have to see gills and stem  to know for sure.

Yeah, definitely. I dunno why I thought Armillaria. It’s a textbook H. fasciculare.

Bravo Ran-D :toast: , I looked these up and they do look like good matches.  The Tremella Aurantia (Golden Ear) and Peziza were really interesting to get a name for.  And Daedelea quercina has been used as a natural comb before - woah factoid of the day!
