First flush in shotgun FC! Not bad for a first time ever! And more on the way! Just wanted to share.
Now time for the dehydrator! 12 hours at 80 degrees F

I would turn the heat all the way up for 12hrs, but thats just me, im sure there is nothing wrong with 80°f but it will take longer to dry than a higher temp. Nice fruit by the way, keep up the good work.

Seems like way to high of a temp from what I’ve read. A lot of folks take the heating element out of the dehydrator all together because of the “high heat reducing potency” thinking. I’m a noob so I know Nothing but what I read.
I’m in no hurry so I may turn it up to 100 -120 or so to speed the process up a bit. Slow and steady for now

The fasteser you get the moisture out the less potency lost, and if 160° was going to in some way mess up the potency of the product then how does boiling not mess up potency.

You’re asking a noob. I have no idea. Looking for advice. That thinking is just opposite of everything I’ve read. Not saying it’s incorrect.... just saying everything I’ve read says keep it below 125ish. Again, this is literally my first time doing this so I’m always open to advice.
Thank you!

Im not trying to discredit you, I'm just giving you the facts, active alkaloids in cubes don't degrade until you get over 280° I don't know the exact number but as long as they stay under 250° you will be ok. So your dehydrator maxed out will not damage them in any way it will just dry them faster. And the key to keeping potency is getting the moisture out as fast as possible.

Always run the dehydrator at max temp. Actives don't start to break down till well above any temp a dehydrator can reach (like 300+F)

People purposely make dehydrators less efficient?
You might not be in a hurray but the oxidation of your fruits will hurt the potency. Longer they are not 100% dry the more the actives can degrade.
Dry hot and fast.

Just wanted to follow up.... turned the dehydrator up to 140 F and shrooms were perfectly crispy in 4 hours with no potency loss. Thanks all for the advice. A successful first flush no doubt!

Four hours total? Or did you run it at 80 for a while then crank it up for four hours?
You might want to weigh them then put them back in for a couple hours and re weigh to see if they lose weight.
Four hours is short unless you have very skinny stems.
