Good growth in jar, or contams?

Finally found the right place to post this. Sweet.
So I'm seeing what looks to be white 'grains'. Is that the good shit starting to form? Or contam? Neither?
Also, if you look within the red circle, it kinda looks like the white 'grains' are forming a 'clump'. That's normal, hey?
Super nervous about contams. First time doing this, which is probably why my worries are so high. It's probably day 3 or 4. If these aren't contams, that must mean I'm off to a good start, hey?
Thanks for bearing with a noob and his noob questions.

That's odd. The white "grains" weren't there before...

Okay, thanks!
But whatever it is, there's definitely more of it now. White salt-like spots appearing. And it doesn't look very wet at all. More showing up day-by-day. Is this a sign that it's starting to colonize? These definitely weren't there before, days ago. It's definitely something that happened after the jars were sitting, they weren't there already.

Mycelium is a sign it's starting to colonize.
Your jars look 150% exactly like PF cakes before anything has happened

So if that is the case, is day 5 with no growth not a good sign?
The salt thing still kinda worries me, as there's more. It didn't begin this way.

How did u inoculate? If witha spore syringe or print, you may not see growth for up to 2 weeks.

Spores have to germinate. That can take up to five days on its own, and germination happens at a microscopic level. It’ll take up to 2 weeks to see any truly visible growth.
That said whatever your looking at in your jars was probably there to start, and it’s just drying and shit is solidifying.
Doesn’t look like anything is there and looks like a well prepared PF jar. That’s it.

Do you like to fish? Or perhaps play video games like Fortnight or CoD? Cause these next few days to weeks you should focus on anything but picking up and touching those jars. Even at the angle you are holding the jar in you picture you have tilted the dry vermiculite barrier and Everytime you touch them you run the risk of allowing contams into your process.

BRF is pretty contaminant resistant. That’s why no one puts filters on them. The verm barrier is for things like mold, which in OPs case might be a problem considering the extra water he added.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!
Kinda worrying at this point.
It's day 6 or 7. Absolutely zero growth. I bought a syringe off of a very reputable thing.
And sock, already done with my challenges, so I'm fortnite'd out, mate. Haha!
When I look into the substrate, it doesn't look dry, and it doesn't look wet- like it looks like a perfect consistency. But yeah. No growth yet and it's day 6 or 7, and I'm kind of worrying a bit.

I have had jars that took 2 weeks to see visable growth. I have had jars that never grew... It's the way she goes.

I'm a fan of the first part of that sentence... Gives me a bit of hope... can't say I'm a fan of the second... all 6 jars are showing zero growth haha!

Would the fact that I'm doing Golden Teachers change the colonization speed at all? I've read that some strains can take a bit longer to colonize.

Technically they are varieties of the same strain, some genetics are more prevelant in certain varieties if we are all talking about cubes. But the reason we isolate is to narrow down the dominate genes in that variety and get a tissue culture that does what we want. Fast growing, full pinset, big harvest, high potency, also looks.
