Problems with the seal on my Pressure Cooker

My pressure cooker won't seal all of a sudden. Has anyone else had this problem before.
I just tried to run it, and steam and water are coming out of two different spots. I tried to pull out the gasket and re oil it but it didn't seem to help at all.
I even tried to rotate the gasket to see if it leaked in a different spot but it didn't.
Is this pressure cooker trashed? Its a few years old at this point and I probably haven't been as good with maintenance as iIshould have.

The gasket is fucked. As it gets old it gets tough and shrinks a little. I ordered a newone and it sorted it immedietly. In the meantime soak the old on in really hot water, put it back in the lid and as temp gets to that area where it leaks twist the lid a little to try to find a sweet spot. It took me a bit of time but I got 2 more runs out of it before the new seal arrived.

Take off the lid and look at the rim of the pot (the part that contacts the gasket when the lid is on). Run your finger around the rim and make sure it feels smooth all the way around. If you encounter a rough patch, gently sand it with super fine grit sandpaper (the finest you can get) until it feels smooth again. You want the mating surfaces to be smooth. A new gasket would likely help as they're better able to seal surface imperfections/rough patches but you might want to try this first. If everything is smooth and you get a new gasket and it still leaks then it's warped and trashed.

Yeah Its all smooth on the lid.
I was just concerned because rotating the gasket didn't change where the leak was coming from.
I went ahead and ordered a new one though. They make the part numbers confusing though, so I hope I got the right one.
I'm going to try the hot water trick though. I'll let you know if it works.

I gently stretch my old gaskets to make then bigger when they do this. It's best to stretch them when warm/hot.
One time I tore the gasket in half while stretching it. I still got it to work though by sticking it back together with a bead of RTV silicone. The bead was 1/4" thick so it increased the diameter a bit. That got me through until I got a new one.
Vegetable oil is supposed to prolong the life of these seals, I still haven't got myself a little silicone food brush to oil the gasket after every use, sometimes I just use an oil soaked paper towel.

So I poured some boiling water on the gasket from the tea kettle and let is sit for 20 or so min. Put it back and with a little adjusting it worked like a charm!
