Speaking of hip hop. I still seem to associate the song "Behind Enemy Lines" by Dead Prez with shrooms. It's the waaaooooow sound all throughout the track, and trippy samples in general.

Haha I lied! I have been to a live concert but I was on a really weird LSD. Anyway, the girl I could have died for was lead singer in a punk rock band, Skreech Rock. It was their concert. And yes there were loads of punks there. It was way too aggressive; getting home was such a relief.....
I went to see Hawkwind once in Preston where I was straight, but I bumped into a tripping buddy who was on LSD. I saw him trying to get out of the toilets; his face and body were pinned to the wall, and he was feeling his way along the wall. When he recognised me he told me “never take acid in this place, dude!”
I can laugh my socks off now 30 years later 🤣🤣🤣

I dunno about that one dude, feels a bit aggressive to me. Maybe I’m a bit of an over-aged wuss? I like stuff a bit gentler, generally.

Chillhop
I absolutely fucking love this stuff. I came up from the likes of DJ Shaodw/Massive Attack and NinjaTune stuff like Mr. Scruff, Bonobo, Blockhead, etc. and the underground hip hop scene in general... labels like Def Jux, Mush, Stones Throw, Anticon.
Chillhop kind of meets all of that instrumental criteria and there's a ton of it. Some favorites:
Saib. eevee. Limes. wun two. mt fujitive. fujitsu. Brock Berrigan. FloFilz. Ugh. There's so many. Just check out all of the Essentials compilations and you'll go into a hole of each artist's portfolio.
edit: Oh, and it's so often completely unoffensive and cinematic that it works just right with psychedelics.
