His daughter and seven other people died also including a whole family and several other younger girls. This is a tragedy that even if you don't care about Kobe's death it's still a tragedy that his daughter and seven others were lost.

He probably did fly a lot in that helicopter.
And its just like foreign terrorists flying airplanes into tall city buildings: It was bound to happen eventually.
I guess Kobe sealed his fate when he descided that helicopters was his choice in transportation, even on cloudy days

From what I’ve seen helicopters have an insane amount of upkeep with it essentially needing to be rebuilt every 1,000 hours of use. Apparently they’re blaming fog last I heard? The crash site looked like a bomb blew it up into confetti so there’s your conspiracy theory LC, it was taken out by a fellow rival maybe.
That always trips me out how massive death comes out of nowhere because sometimes I’ll catch myself not thinking about it and it’s like, coulda got you. It can really get into your head and fuck with you because there’s really no way to counter the possibility completely. Just outta nowhere.
Gotta stay on your toes man, there’s dark shit written into the code of this reality.

I keep asking myself when I see posts like this in here: Then why post? Why even come into a thread to say "i dont care about this thread"?

I said it because I think the amount of attention it's getting is ridiculous. 150,000 people die everyday. That's 150,000 I don't know and have zero connection to. Should I mourn Kobe differently because he was a rich and famous basketball star? No. He falls in the same category as the other 150,000 people I don't know that died that day.

I don't get it either. I think a lot of people think their opinions are way more important than they actually are. To the point where they have to basically drop by just to shout it out. And I'm not just talking about here of course. Here is just a microcosm.
But yeah, using this board for example -- if I see a thread that doesn't interest me, I just go past it. That's it. Pretty simple.
I don't see a thread where I think "I don't care about that so I better go into this thread I don't care about and tell everyone there that I don't care about it because I'm sure everyone in there wants to know".

Well some of us grew up watching Kobe Bryant since we were wee lads. He was larger than life, best basketball player of our generation, he was everywhere. Yeah, say what we will now about his allegations and whatever. But as kids, a lot of us looked up to him. Like someone would an actor that they really like, or comedian, or any entertainer. So yeah, none of us knew him personally. And maybe if you are not a sports fan then you dont care at all and it has no impact on you. But for some people, sports fans, basketball fans, etc., Kobe Bryant was someone that had been, at least in a way, a part of their life for 20 years. Someone they saw the face of almost everyday. Every time they chucked somethin in the trash can they yell 'Kobe!'. Every time they turned on ESPN there he was. Probably had a poster of him on their wall throughout their childhood. Wore his shoes. Had his jersey. Then boom all the sudden, fuckin dead, blows up in a god damn helicopter with his daughter in it. Shit was shocking. Maybe you dont give a fuck. But how it is so beyond your comprehension to understand that this man meant a hell of a lot more to some people than some random person out of a pool of 150,000 dead people is just retarded to me. If nothing else, he was an ungodly famous celebrity who fucking exploded out of god damn nowhere with his child and 7 other people, you can't for the life of ya understand why that is news worthy?
Stop trying to be woke. No one cares that you dont care. It isnt edgy, it isnt thought-provoking, it is not interesting, not unique, not worth saying. You just didn't like kobe, weren't a fan, didn't like basketball, whatever it was that made it so kobe meant nothing to you, just like he meant nothing to everybody else who was not a sports fan. Why would we give a fuck? If someone you admired died, I wouldnt show up to the funeral and go "why should I care, I didnt know em'

And you’re the edgelord that has to tell everyone you don’t care about a dead guy.
I’m with you about not caring about Kobe- until Sunday I knew nothing about him except that he played basketball. But I’m not so up my own ass that I feel the need to tell his fans that I don’t care. I’ve made three posts in this thread before this, because I found things in it I wanted to converse about. Stopping in just to say “idc about kobe lol” is just stupid. The pub is cluttered up with a ton of non-content these days, absolutely worthless posts that didn’t ever need to be made. Don’t contribute to that, especially just to look like an angsty teen.

Has anyone else died recently who recieved a lot of praise and grievance despite having a publically known rapey and gluttenous side to their personality? Trying to see some phenomena of reality
An important detail i think of the rape case was that he bought his wife a 4 million dollar ring to wear on her finger, as an apology for the matter

Lets get some sources of information of other dead celebs who get away with praise and grievance scott free despite their publicly known shit morals so we can develop some theory to this.
