It'll be in the US major cities by mid February.
Taking bets, who's in?

The Italian researchers’ findings, published by the INT’s scientific magazine Tumori Journal, show 11.6% of 959 healthy volunteers enrolled in a lung cancer screening trial between September 2019 and March 2020 had developed coronavirus antibodies well before February.

I've seen this stated before. It is not always the case.

"...a so-called cytokine storm...
During the 1918 “Spanish flu” pandemic that killed up to 50 million people a century ago, many people were reported to have died within hours of showing their first symptoms".

These things can mutate to become somehting capable of killing millions. It's a matter of time.

That % is based on the numbers I read in this thread. Sure it could get worse, but the young, old and sick will be the one's most affected. I'm not trying to downplay it, I'm just not as concerned as a 80yo should be.

@pacman, I'll shout you the meds if you get sick

Aside from what's already been said, if it's 2% with intervention then what happens if we get too many cases? There aren't enough doctors, medicine, or time. As it progresses and spreads the death rate will climb. This is one of if not the biggest problem with the population size right now, we don't have the technology to deal with or quarantine a real pandemic. And I'll tell ya, I've had pneumonia. While I was fit, and healthy. Felt like I was gonna die, in fact I almost suffocated on my couch because I couldn't move

So you mean the exact situation where the outbreak's epicenter is ? In a country with the worlds biggest population and a dismal rate of good medical technology in rural areas as well as a underwhelming number of healthcare professionals too.

A couple thousand years from now they’ll discover a lone sky scraper and wonder how our primitive civilization built it without knowledge of the wheel.  They’ll find Mt. Rushmore and talk about how we worshipped them as kings... it’ll just be business as usual as far as Mother Nature is concerned..  rinse and repeat.

I live in an old farmhouse, and when it rains a lot or too much snow melts my basement floods a little. So when it's raining a lot or the snow is melting I sometimes say "I hope the basement doesn't flood." It doesn't always happen, and it's not always that bad, but that doesn't make it an exaggeration because I saw all the signs. And what we have here is all the signs for a flooded basement. How many times in your life have you heard of a quarantined city?
