The fucked up thing is that most of the masks and gloves are probably manufactured in China, so I hope they’re arriving nice and sterile.

Might want to pick up ibuprofen or naproxen because it not just decreases fevers but also reduces inflammation, and pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs.
There's a little error in this logic, Asante. If it decreases inflammation, you won't need ibuprofen or naproxen. No, pneumonia is fluid building up in your lung from the holes the virus ate away. Which leaves little pockets for bacterial infections to take hold. Inflammation is an immune response, which if isn't an immune response, there is a lack of inflammation.

lol, I thought the same thing. Early bird gets the safe set, the rest get the virus laced ones. Mine came out of California, but it is Chinese made.

Yes. We're penpals now. This full face mask feels like overkill like I could be on a response team.

BayerPhi said: What's the most concerning within this study, is the lack of the WBC response. Only 1 patient's body out of 6 infected patients have an increase immune response. Which means the other 5's bodies aren't finding the virus too well.
Usually, a NK-cell or another WBC comes across a cell that's infected. It goes, "HOLD THE F**K UP, IMPOSTER" and basically implodes the cell. Then it eats the cell's corpse. Then it digests the cell's corpse looking for an alien protein to identify the virus by. (This virus is 0.125 micrometers large) Then it takes that protein to the APCs, and other antigen presenting cells. They travel to the lymph nodes and share it with the others. Basically saying, "If a cell has this protein, or whatever antigen they found, kill it." The B-cells get to work on the antibodies. Your immune organs get to work increasing all the Hard-hitting WBCs. And so your body attacks your infected lung cells, simultaneously as the virus attacks your healthy lung cells.
See page 4 for the clinical features and laboratory results.

I have a full face respirator. I should get some new filters. I also have googles to keep the splatter out of my eyes and surgical gloves.

I order 8x packs of the 2 quantity P100's, may go buy all the ones from my local hardware stores this weekend. There's no sense of panic here whatsoever.

Dude motherfucker, nice ad hominem but the statementof of asymptomatic transfer is the official statement of the Chinese health authorities.

So do you believe "a doctor" calling it rare about respiratory viruses in general, or do you trust China’s National Health Commission Minister Ma Xiaowei, who deals with a widespread epidemic of exactly this virus with factual information about this particular strain pouring in from all sides?

I’m so used to the news making mountains out of mole hills it’s hard to judge whether or not this is something to be worried about and to what degree. Using words like epidemic for fucking vaping etc kind of diminishes it’s value with them crying wolf every single day. The sky is always falling..
Do they have worthless, shitty news in the Netherlands or can you kind of trust it a little bit?

Amanita, you're completely right about that, the news is a steaming pile of hype with drug epidemics warrenting a war on drugs becaudse America Is Under Attack and
News is shitty in the Netherlands also. Not as bad as in the US but, gnarly.
We have here a common cold virus that is highly contagious, that in MANY cases leads lo life threatening pneumonia, including in previously healthy people, with potentially a 15% death rate, which has an incubation time where one is infectious before one shows symptoms and in other cases the disease appears mild but is very contagious nonetheless.
All this is conductive to it becoming a widespread epidemic, maybe even a pandemic and in its place of origin, the graph of people coming down with it is almost vertical.
You can see it happening that people with no symptoms leave China, once elsewhere in the world, 1-2 weeks later come down with a LIGHT case of the disease, mistake it for the common cold and keep on trucking throughout life while mildly sick, infecting lots of people of whom 25% will get VERY sick.
You know how most people like assholes go around spreading their cold or flu nowadays, visiting you, hugging you then saying "I got such a bad flu I'm almost dead" with snot running out their noses and sweaty all over, as if they WANT to infect you? People are going to do this with mild cases of Wuhan coronavirus and with it spread around something that is a nuisance to them but lethal to others.
Be alert about this one. It has pandemic written all over it precisely BECAUSE there are very mild cases and very severe ones, with a long incubation time.

Remember that pneumonia, secondary to the common cold, used to be one of the major killers before the age of antibiotics and vaccines.
Now theres no vaccine, antibiotics are useless because its viral, and its a 25% shot of coming down with pneumonia if infected.

that doesn't protect against pneumonia itself, only against one common pathogenic cause of pneumonia. you could still get pneumonia if you contracted coronavirus or really any respiratory virus.

With Wuhan virus, generally the virus itself appears to cause the pneumonia directly, which is why antibiotics and vaccinations against anything but wuhan virus are without effect.
ýour only advantage in terms of wuhan is that you are less likeky to get a pneumococcal secondeary infection pneumonia.
