Clearly I have to add FAE holes and inoculation ports. I assume the best bet would be to test it as in PC to see if it breaks

Hey buddy, test it out if you want but Mason, Kerr, and Ball jars are all made to withstand the heat and pressure of a PC. Plus they don't cost much and I use any I don't need as drinking glasses. There sturdy and good quality

Sure why not.
Some people use drinking glasses covered with foil.

Both make sense. In fact Ikea glasses might be a good cheap option, come to think of it. They are a bit like jars I use in thickness. To I suppose they would work too with foil, even the jars I have that I use foR PFtek. But that would mean many jars and more agar to use up. Hmmnn
Cheers guys

When you say FAE holes, you actually mean gas exchange. GE vs FAE. And are inoculation ports actually better than just opening the lid and injecting in a SAB or in front of a flow hood?

Um... probably

Just read the thread makes sense. difference is the growing stage and end result, either way myc needs oxygen. It’s like me being a premature baby in an incubator needing oxygen or breathing with an air tank while scuba diving (GE) and talking a walk in the park for fresh air and sanity (FAE)

Eeeezy geez! 👋
When I put it in the PC for test, lid on, off or slightly loose? Thinking of pressure as I haven’t made holes yet for GE and inoculation on the lid. The jar cost me £1 from a Pound shop, it holds around 900ml compared with my 500ml graduated bottle
