Would a dented mushroom cap imply anything about my current conditions?
    #26457036 - 01/28/20 03:11 PM (4 years, 1 day ago)

Photo above. Do I need to mist, increase FAE, etc.? I’ve been a bit hesitant to mist & fan so far, as I’m still unsure from my own knowledge. I’m seeing lots of hyphal knotting and pins coming from them, but I just want to make sure my conditions are ideal before they start growing. Not seeing much beading of moisture on my surface. Very minimal amount, if any. Would that dented cap there imply anything about my moisture of air exchange? Upon closer look, I noticed that there is actually a small hole in the center of the dent as well. Doing Bod’s Unmodified tek with a flipped lid, giving it 12/12 lighting with a fluorescent tube lamp. No holes, no polyfill. Thanks.

Same as yesterday. Just wait and chill. Making multiple threads about the same thing will get your threads locked.

Oh okay, sorry, not yet familiar with how to use a forum like this. Just feeling a bit unsure is all. I’ll be aware of that and refrain from posting. Thanks for the heads up.

don't quit posting! just keep it in the same thread. it's nice to see updates when people ask for advice. too many people ghost their threads. down the road if someone stumbles on your thread looking for advice in a similar situation it's good to have follow through so they can see how it went.

I was just curious about this small yellowish spot (photo center). I don’t feel as though it’s a contamination, as I’ve seen it there for quite some time. Is it a metabolite of some sort? Should I remove it from the substrate? I am also starting to see pins by the dozens. Thanks!

If you followed TEK properly Leave everything and don't move. When process is going just observe and learn. After you will be done you will know 100% what you did to get there. Leave improvements for later  looking OK so far

Yellowish spot is fine.  Relax and enjoy the process.

Seeing pretty strong implications of ridiculous success. Knotting is extreme, pins popping up everywhere. There are about 20 knots per square inch all the way across the surface! I’m wondering if I should harvest this big ‘ol lad that lead the pack. He’s a big ol guy, was the first I saw in my grow. I just don’t want to end up ripping out all the little lads following along at his base. Thoughts?

Cut the cap off and print it, leave the stem.

Also not every knot will become a pin, and not every pin will mature. Especially if you fuck with any of the conditions. That big guy that’s already mature is telling me your conditions are a bit off, as no other pins have matured.

Or maybe that’s just your clone candidate, if this is a multispore grow

That mushroom was the first to show up to the party, after I saw him I started seeing tons of knotting, and now tons of pins. I am seeing 40+ confirmed pins with brown caps, then a few hundred knots that may or may not become pins. Either way, exceeding my expectations! I haven’t changed my conditions at all since spawning, no mist, no fan, nothing. Once I saw shit begin to take off I just thought “alright, I’m just gonna let it do it’s thing and not worry about it.” What will happen with the stem if I just simply cut the cap? And what would happen if I left it? Spore spill, I presume, but what are the effects of that? Thanks for the tips!
