Is there any reason anyone can think of that Shouldn’t mix my spawn and substrate in the 5 gallon bucket I made my substrate in? Using a paint mixing adapter for my drill to mix it then dump it into my bin/liner I’m a lazy fuck I kno...

Do you need to? Why not shake jars (grain?) And mix in some coir, add jar, add coir? Seems harmful to the spawn.. (I'm a nonshaker though)

Is there any reason I shouldn't open a package with a circular saw. Yes, because it's overkill!!! Why not just shake the jars and dump them in the bucket, put on gloves and break it all up and mix with your hands. Finally, I like to save a bit of my sub to use as a top layer so there aren't any exposed grains in case my spawn isn't squeaky clean. Finally I agree that it's probably a bit rough on the spawn.

If your spawn is negatively effected by shaking or stirring, then you don't want it anyway. Recovery time is a great indicator of health IMO.
I mix my sub and spawn vigorously to bust as many mycelium fragments as possible into the sub, and I notice faster colonization because of it
If you ever make an LC you will see how resilient myc is to being abused. Its a damn machine and loves it.

I prefer to mix my spawn in the bucket I prepared my coir in. I only use my hands but it’s easier then mixing in the tub IMO

Now that sounds like a good time.
