Seeing pins, but they haven’t grown much in two days. Do I need to mist/fan?

I have one mushroom growing in my tub so far, seems to be doing well. I have plenty of those white dots that turn into pins, but they aren’t doing much over the last two days. Do I just keep up with the patience, or should I mist/fan? I’ve been directed against misting & fanning so far. Doing unmodified tub tek with a flipped lid for air gaps under the latches. The tub itself seems pretty moist. Thousands of tiny beads of moisture on the walls, and larger beads on the lower walls surrounding the substrate. Seeing a bit of beading on the mycelium surface, but my mycelium’s genetics took a more “cottony” route, so it’s hard to tell. It’s just odd to me that I have one mushroom ahead of the rest while the other pins seem to be slow to break through. Stay patient, or mist/fan? Thanks!

I would fan for sure. I think you might have an issue with your sub, but not to worry there are so many things you can not tell from a picture. (like smell)
This could be a case of an early fruit, you could be fixing to see an explosion of pins, or you could have some competing mold in your sub and that is why you have 1 little fruit. It doesn't seem like this tub is quite ready for fruiting however.
If you didn't have that mushroom would you be excited or worried?

Smells great to me! Smells very clean, almost pleasant even. Same smell I’ve smelt the whole time. Maybe it wasn’t ready to fruit, you could be right. I was advised to start giving it light when I posted a photo here a while ago, and once I saw that first mushroom I was thinking “must be go-time.” So, for the last few days I’ve been giving it 12/12 hour light on/off. I haven’t fanned it or misted a single time, as I was advised against it. Maybe I ought to go grab a paper plate or something and start fanning it? I don’t think any mold or contamination is the issue here, but that’s just my speculation. My theory is one of three things; I either need to fan, mist, or be patient. I just can’t decide which one it is, lol.
Edit: And to answer your question, if I didn’t have that one single mushroom, I’d be excited rather than worried, for sure. I’m seeing a ton of little white dots forming (early pins, I believe). I just can’t tell if I need to trigger something with fanning/misting or not. It’s very possible I could be fixing to see a pin explosion very soon if nothing seems to be amiss.

well i can see condensation on the walls, so i think your misting is fine. i think you want to fan as much as possible without letting it dry out.

Thank you, High Wizard! I’m gonna fan it when I get home and leave the lid a bit cracked.

Fuck the plastic walls you need to pay attention to the subs surface. Which looks ok. You got more knots/pins coming just be patient. Mist when your surface is dry not based off x times per day.
Fanning is the mycological equivalent to praying. Its outdated and scientifically useless.
Early pinning can be a sign of contamination but I think you are good. Just wait and chill.

Cool, thanks! Yeah, I just wanted to share the bit about the walls as means to describe humidity. Waiting and chilling seems like the safe bet. I’m not seeing any signs of contamination to my (still noob) knowledge. Smells pretty damn good, though. I’d compare it to that Colgate toothpaste with baking soda in it, lol. Thanks for the advice! I’ll hold off on the fanning and just let it do it’s thing.
