Tripping for clinical depression

When tripping on 4-aco-dmt for clinical depression, is wearing an eye shade and listening to classical music the way to go, or does anyone recommend another approach?
Recently I tripped like that with 25mg 4-aco-dmt. I'm pretty sure I experienced ego death. For a while it felt like I lost my identity altogether. However, I'm still struggling with depression, although it's a little better.
Any and all advice is appreciated.

I think the idea of tripping in darkness is to minimize any distractions which will pull you out of a deep train of thought, the deeper you go the closer you get to a breakthrough.
The John Hopkins classical playlist does a great job of creating different moods to stimulate introspective thought throughout a trip. I'm more familiar with psilocyben being used in depression treatment through papers I've read, but I wish you luck with your future endeavors.

I’m diagnosed with manic depression and I find psilocybin is much more beneficial and has longer lasting after effects on my mood than acid. I use acid because it’s fun and it invokes creativity. I find myself dealing with much more emotional issues on mushrooms and They are much easier on the mind.

4-aco-dmt is psilocin. It's a prodrug that turns into psilocin into our body. Yes, 25mg is a pretty solid dose, comparable to 5 grams of dried mushrooms (an average gram contains 5 to 7 mg of alkaloids).
So the right tag for this thread should be mushrooms, not dmt. It's a bit confusing.
Psychedelics are tools, you have to do the work still. Don't expect a change from dosing once or twice. There might be, but those tools can show you how to change things for the better by yourself. They might show you your faults, or new perspectives on life, it's up to you to integrate the things yu were shown into your own life to make it better. Change comes from within, not from the drug. Happiness is just a choice.
Keep it up, man!

All of this, and especially the bolded part, is the best information to remind yourself of.
My first mushroom experience was an unbelievable catalyst. It took me from insanely depressed and dreadful about life to "I may yet have a chance at redemption". The next two years after that was an "up and down" experience. I didn't dose again during those few years and I tried to do some work on myself (but it was half-assed). Then the mushies called to me again and I began to work with them consistently. Without having done them in a while, being over-hyped to do them, and having little experience, I incorrectly thought they could "cure" my traumas.
They didn't.
And then, when I let go of that notion, and I continued to work with them it absolutely hit me. They provided me with new perspectives, cathartic experiences to relieve traumatic memories, and ultimately, they reminded me that

And I continue, and will continue, to put in the necessary work. There will be good days and there will be bad days. But I always remind myself "This is part of the process".
Good luck on your journey!

I think being in the dark is a great idea. Eye shade may be a bit overkill.
Just go lay in bed and get comfortable. No music necessary.
