This is the one I'm going to be doing, Maylink. Its not sunny here either but I have a large window which provides a lot of natural light, I will place it near enough where it won't receive any direct sun (not that we get much here).
A.K.A those look great, is that a cake?

Well, it's a good job we don't have dyslexia or else we'd be quite crushed by that statement and insinuation.
Plus, we tend not to use American English spelling for our words as we are Scottish

They look great! How long did the process take from inoculation?

Thanks man.
The first one was my very first grow and went really fast, got lucky with ms I guess. From inoculation to harvest under four weeks. I just remember trippin out when I did the math and I had harvested shrooms something like 32 days from when I ordered the syringes.
The PE took prob like 6-7 weeks maybe more.

The indirect sunlight should work fine.
Don’t forget to keep us posted on your grow

This is all brilliant folks and it's got me even more excited to know I have experienced opinions to draw from, I'm away for a week very soon so will start the grow as soon as I return. I will be taking regular pictures to show my progress and hopefully get your opinions on how well I'm doing.
How do you guys store your mushrooms? I'm thinking from a micro dosing perspective, it's best to keep the whole mushroom preserved until it's time to consume, I read somewhere that for accurate microdosing to grind up the mushroom and weigh it evenly, but surely grinding and breaking down the mushroom too early will cause it to lose its potency quickly if not consumed soon enough. What are your views?

I’ve been microdosing .2g daily (5 on/2 off) for the past 4 months. Usually grind up every two weeks and make capsules. Store dried fruits and powder with a desiccant packet.
Glad to hear you’re picking up a MD regimen, it’s worked wonders for me and everyone I know who’s doing it.

Your first step is to dry your mushrooms using a dehydrator, this is a must! Your storage container should be dark, room temperature and airtight. Desiccant packs are normally used to absorb an additional moisture. I vacuum seal and store with a few desiccant packs usually. Making tea(Lemon Tek) and freezing is a way to preserve almost indefinitely. I've also dried and stored immediately in the freezer for long term and haven't noticed any potency loss or ill effects. The most important step is drying as quickly as possible to reduce potency loss.

Can i dry the mushrooms in the oven on very low heat (or a recommended heat setting)?
I know there are varying factors to consider when growing which produce different results, how many grams can I expect to yeild from the kit I'm going to be using (see picture above) considering things go well? And how many grams do you guys usually produce?

Best to obtain a food dehydrator. Not sure about oven. Good deals on OfferUp/FB marketplace.
Nearly impossible to predict what yield to expect from your grow kit or any other method. Way too many variables dependent on methods/conditions/etc.
Just give it your best shot, be open to whatever happens, and learn, learn, learn!

Thought so, following the instructions and applying common sense, hopefully I'll get a good yeild.
I've just purchased Stamets's GGMM book for some insight, I hear it's a little dated but I'm sure it's not far off.

I'm reading the GGMM book, very good read!
How do you guys keep the process sterile? I'm sure techniques differ, but I'd like to get opinions on location (room/kitchen/bath room) and thoroughness. I'd hate to make a rookie mistake!

Spray bottles with 70% ISO and 10% Bleach solution works for me. Whatever room is the cleanest, I use kitchen and room.
When in doubt, spray it down! Tubs, liner, counters, tools, working area, etc. And SAB for transfers, innocs, agar work. Better than possible contams.

Ok so I have inoculated the kits a few hours ago, I've stored them in a plastic ziplock bag,in a box above the fridge where it's nice and warm.
Does it need any air yet or is that for the fruiting process?
Is it a good idea for the kits to colonise in a warm box in the dark?

Light is good the whole time but it’s not super important until there’s pins.
A warm spot is good for now but just not over like 77

Thank you for getting back to me... so a bit of light whilst colonising is good.
And keep nice and warm.
What about ventilation, does it need any air yet or is it safe in a sealed box/bag?

Either ways fine. If you want to do a colonization period then it doesn’t need much air, but a lot of people just go straight to fruiting conditions.
What’s the kit say to do?

"4. Colonisation
Now it's time to leave the MycoBox in a safe place to fully colonise with mycelium. We have included a zipper bag which will hold the colonising MycoBox and keep it as clean as possible for the next stages. Remember not to seal the bag fully to allow the growing mycelium to breathe! It's recommended to leave the MycoBox to colonise in a room with indirect sunlight or light from a flourescent bulb.. although a dark cupboard won't do any harm. Just keep it out of direct sunlight and it will be fine!"
This is what the website instructions say, but which is it, zip lock bag or allow it to breath? And if so, do I open the box? In many videos I've seen the colonisation is occuring in a sealed grow bag, so no ventilation. I'm confused.
And I don't see the point of going through the sterile process to then leave the box exposed to contamination from air.

Just do like it says put it in the bag but don’t close it all the way.
Once the spawn is totally colonized it doesn’t need sterile conditons anymore.
