Interesting SoCal find

Habitat: Found growing in upper Ojai, Ca at around 1300ft. The terrain is rocky with few trees. Mostly sage brush and madrone. Found in the soil. Near mosses and other mushrooms. Near a creek but not in the creek bed.
Gills: Pale lilac in younger specimens to a darker grey/purple in older ones. Gills adnexed(almost free looking), close/crowded, with intermediate gills towards the margin.
Stem: 2.5-3.5cm long, 1.5cm thick. White. Pruinose above annular zone, with many fine brownish fibrils below. Hollow stuffed with pith. Strong altogether, not fragile. No bruising.
Cap: 2.5-5cm. Convex in young specimens, broadly convex in older ones. Irregular margin at maturity. Sticky to the touch, viscid. Orange to brown with a lighter yellowish margin. Lightly striated. Semi gelatinous pellicle. No bruising
Spore print color: could be a light purple brown... possibly a light orange brown... hard to tell on foil
Bruising: no apparent bruising
Other information: No particular smells. Found in areas with tiny Deconica and what i assume to be tiny Galerinas in the moss. This wasnt actually in the moss but in the dirt next to it. I also found inky caps in the area.
Thanks for the help!

Galerina, use natural light to look at your spore prints.

They just seemed so large for Galerina. Thanks doc. Do you know which one in specific?

You sure Doc? Due to the fibrous and sticky cap (the debris is sticking to it), and the lilac gills when young, I'd say it's a Cortinarius sp.

Here is the spore print after 24 hours and in natural light. A much darker chocolate brown.

It's a Pholiota. Something like Pholiota brunnescens if you found them in a previously burned area.

I think you hit the nail on the head Donjon. It was in the Thomas Fire burn area that I found these
