I NOCCED 10 bottles with an agar plate blended in sterile water the other day, and nothing happened! No contamination, but no growth of any kind was seen.
I think the mycelial growth on the plate was too weak, or maybe I incubated the bottles too cold?!?!
Anyway, I want to try again, so please help me decide which plate to blend up. Thanks for looking at them.

I think you need to give it more time.
When I swiped my lc to test it it did nothing until day 3-4 then came to life.

None. Id make transfers so you are not blending plates that have primorida on them.

Thanks 'Eat'. And also many thanks all the TEKs you have shared. You have helped me a LOT.
First I learned how to do agar on Shroomery. Now I have decent plates, I have to confess that I have absolutely no clue what to do with them.... until I do some more research or ask a few more questions on Shroomery.
This place is heaven.

You are right. Just when I was giving up hope (and had actually re-NOCCED several of them with a MS BRF slurry - dirty!) I started to see some fluffy white growth in some bottles this evening, and some of that way down the bottom. Looks like I was too impatient. Hahaha!
I did put them on perlite in an incubator though, with a heat controller and seedling mat.

I did a bunch of transfers the other day. First time using an agar recipe containing LME. I think the malt failed to sterilise properly because there was bacteria inside the puck, and covering entire plates of the whole batch of 30 plates. LHBS sold me out-of-date malt extract - I am guessing that is the cause.
Will do some more transfers tomorrow.
Thanks again!

What I think eat is saying is that mycelium have a life cycle. Once they start to pin they become exhausted. If you are going to transfer do it before the pinning cycle.

That is interesting and good to know. Thanks Sockadin.
I have a bunch of new agar plates ready - my SAB is finally comfortable to use - I am no longer scared of contamination, as I have seen lots
I will make the next few rounds as swiftly as possible.
I think I have overwhelmed myself with having too many clone cultures on the go. I just need to choose a few strong ones to work on and refrigerate or bin the rest I guess. I got greedy - newbie error I guess!
