So last night both BF and I each take an 1/8 of your basic shrooms, some full and broken caps, stems and weird nasty ash, we both down with OJ. It takes an hour but then For the next 6 hours my BF trips, spending most of his time in my closets joying the trip while I’ll binge watched Ozark on Netflix, waiting for the magic to happen. Nothing ever happened! I just decided to get stoned and go to bed at 11pm. We both ate about an hour or prior to ingesting. He has a super high metabolism and I have a bow average metabolism. Just curious if anyone else has any insight on my he tripped and I didn’t and we both took the same, ge even had more caps in his bag and gave me some of them. Anyway I was really looking forward to it, it’s been 20 years and I am extremely curious if the benefits you get after when you suffer with depress and anxiety. Thanks in advance!

Are you taking any prescribed medications for your anxiety and depression? Some may inhibit a full blown trip.

SSRI's and SSNRI's generally block/reduce the effects of classic psychedelics depending on your dosage/how long you've been on them for. If you're still interested in having a psychedelic experience and considering discontinuing your medication, please make sure to speak with your therapist about the best way to do so. It will likely take a few months after completely quitting your SSNRI before you'll be able to trip.
Quitting your medication cold turkey will not allow you to trip, and there's serious risks associated with the immediate discontinuation of anti depressant medications. Also in case someone recommends that you take an MAOI to increase the effects of the mushrooms, please know that taking an MAOI while on an SSRI/SSNRI will greatly increase your risk of developing serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal.

The medications you both take is very likely the reason that neither of you did not trip.
Cymbalta will dramatically dull down or even completely block the effects of psychedelics.
What medications does your BF take?...If he's on any SSRI or SNRI, that's why he didn't trip.
The post above by WASTE is pretty much exactly what I was going to mention....spot on, good advice .
Yogastona...If you want to work with psychedelics you will have to make the choice of stopping your prescriptions, but don't do so all at once...Talk to your doc about the best way to quit your medications or find other folks online that have done so. I'm assuming the best way would be to taper down the dose over a few weeks.
One will have to be off the medications for a few weeks at the very least for psychedelics to work at their full potential...It's not one of those things where you can just skip your medications for a day or two, you will have to be off of them for a while.
