Flu Vaccine Selections Suggest This Year’s Shot May Be Off the Mark
I have to get it too but this year the flu vaccine is highly ineffective this year.

I'm seeing a lot of stuff suggesting this may have originated in a bioweapons lab, do we have any critical thinkers who want to weigh in on that?

No, because it jumped from an animal to human. Which history has shown us before what happens when this happens. Over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I'm not a virologist, but I'm an expert in making tin-foiled hats. It's like people forgot how to read, next someone is going to tell me we never been in a similar economic situation like this without knowing about The Gilded Age.

Yeah, they haven't nailed the exact strain for the past 2 years I know. However, since you've been receiving flu vaccinations, in the past and currently, your adaptive immune system is lock and loaded against many variations of the influenza virus.

BayerPhi said: Even if it's the wrong strain for the year. Your innate immune system picks it up easier and the adaptive immune system has an easier time fighting it than without a flu vaccination.
The Influenza virus mutates very fast, and has caused many epidemics and pandemics before.
Bringing this over to this page:

Confirmed cases in California.
IMO, those Americans stranded in China, should be left there and quarantine until all this is sorted out.
There is absolutely no need to introduce possible vectors that are known to be from its origin point.
Perhaps all countries should begin shutting down boarders.
Reminds me of Plague Inc, which has seen a spike this past week or so.

And we have a confirmed case in Toronto...
Apparently snakes are most likely to take the blame for this virus. They say it's similar to other viruses found in snakes. Who would have thought that snakes could kill us?

Not too many things are communicable between snakes and people.
My tinfoil hat is beckoning me. The speed of occurrence and distance between them seems odd.

HIV is the worst candidate for a bioweapon. It is extremely hard to transmit and It has a multi year latency.

Went shopping for non-perishable supplies this afternoon All of it stuff we eat anyway. Should be able to hold out for 2 weeks easily. More with strict rationing.
If its going to be longer than that, we are fucked anyway and out comes the weaponry

I bumped up my pantry with a delivery order of intermediate perishables at around the same time. It too, stuff that gets eaten anyway well within the timeframe it will keep for.
I don't think it will as bad as we might think it will, but still, subtle threat on the horizon, the depth of winter coming.. its good to bump up the longterm food stockpile with some intermediate term foods.
You're quick to swing into action Tripsurfer, are you spooked or just cautious?
So far in China 1600 confirmed cases and 41 deaths. Thats a BIG difference with SARS, here lethality so far seems to be under 1%.
Those 3 cases in France though

This looks to be significantly easier to catch than sars, but less deadly.
Over 2000 cases in China with 56 deaths, but that number hasn’t been updated in over a day
Five cases in US, but just heard on the local news 3 suspected cases in Virginia
