Should of added it in layers but I just mixed it all together, not sure why i did that, don't think that's gonna do much damage is it?

I guess it looks ok. It is really hard to tell from the lighting in the pictures. If your cover is aluminum I would remove and replace with Plastic Wrap.. Some mushies can start to eat the aluminum..

They can eat the foil? Lol, that true? The mycelium does or the mushies do? What's the science behind that?

Since no ones commented and told me it looks wrong I'm gonna guess it looks fine?

Not really sure tbh, at first I was supposed to be doing the pf tek and then I couldn't see myself getting much of a harvest because the jars were small and I didn't fill em fully, after that I planned to spawn em to bulk but ended up with a bit of mold in a couple of the jars, got the jars confused because I scraped the mold out and filled with vermiculite (which was unsterilized) and left it upstairs, then I got the jars confused and wasn't sure which ones had mould in because one of the jars had mycelium which I mistook for mold and did the same thing to, so then I had trouble with that and not sure if molds gone into the final bulk substrate from the cakes i grated, but yeah that's it, basically spawned brf cakes to bulk substrate, wouldn't call it a bulk grow but it was just to bulk out what was there lol probably could of just used vermiculite and brf in the tub tbh because its not very big but wasn't sure if I had enough cake for a bigger tub, just managed to get this one 2 inches deep lol just worried some of the infected cakes went in.
I'll get some better pics tomorrow, should of colonised more by then aswell.

Why is it chunky looking??
It’s hard to tell but it might be really dry if it’s cracking like that.
How long ago was it spawned

Thing is I actually left it two days to colonise with no vermiculite in there, which there was no problem with and I knew that because id looked it up, then at some point I forgot that with everything else and was like "I forgot the vermiculite" so then I added some vermiculite after it had been colonising for two days and mixed it up again, now its been there since yesterday morning, THEN after id done that, I read the same thing that said you don't need vermiculite and coco coir alone is fine so I felt like a right idiot lol do you think that's gonna be a problem or will it just take longer?
Don't laugh my IQ is 240 ill have you know. Lol joke, its my first grow though so that's why I'm a bit wreckless.

Guessin they be fine though, I've seen the wafer Tek which is when you put the cakes at the bottom of the substrate (think that's what it is) and id of thought that's the same in a way, that's only a reason I cant see it being any worse for mold though, you know of any problems I might get from it?

you can get good yields following the PF Tek and, most importantly, you will learn the life cycle of cubes.

just leave it alone for a bit. do you have the lid for that container? If it's transparent I'd put that on loosely rather than the foil. they like the light.

I thought light didn't matter when colonising/incubating? That's what I've heard, clearly it's not that important because my jars colonised in the same conditions, I'm using a tinfoil lid atm because I couldn't find a lid for the tub lol got a light here I could use for fruiting but its 600w I think which might be to powerful if my brain remembers right lol

Seeing is not learning. How many days has it been since the BRF jars were fully colonized?

Leave it alone for a week or so and then take better pics. Really, leave it be. If you see any green pitch it.

I’m new too and just started. Didn’t read if you have a pressure cooker? Suggestions from another noob.
Fooman WBS tek or get rye berries.
Mushboys shoebox tek
Read about lid preparation, and surface conditions.
I read a lot of people like to use “SFD” on their lid holes.

Haven't got a pressure cooker, ive just been using a pan with a tea towl at the bottom then filled with water so the jars don't smash when bouncin around, then put a glass bowl upside down on top of the pan so the rims of the pan and the rims of the bowl connect (their the same size), seems to work fine so far but I did get mold in a few jars so who knows, I'm confident it's not the lack of a pressure cooker causing the mold though.

Looks weird af to me, but the foil isn’t a problem. Idk what dude above is talking about, as long as the substrate isn’t directly touching the foil (ie using it as a lid) you’ll be fine.
Still looks super weird and probably dry.
