Copper Antifungal Cactus germinating

I want to germinate some cacti seeds on agar plates. I was wondering if copper based antifungals like those in a gardening center might be a good additive to the agar? I. Thinking sucrose at 10g/L For notes but not sure what a good ratio of antifungal might be.

I know little of Agar, but copper sulfate will kill just about any fungus. Take care in using it, its very toxic to your eyes and can blind. Copper toxicity is easy to acquire. Its also essentially a pesticide too and in high concentrations, will cause a lot of bugs to outright die. I don't recommend that because when the water evaporates, it leaves behind a dust that may be a hazard in enclosed spaces. I tried using copper sulfate like a barber-cide for my tools and the copper ions rusted them overnight.
I recommend germinating on vermiculite, then transplanting.

I'm going to try a few different ways I think. I'll definitely try the vermiculite its very inert. Thanks for the tips.

I figure corrosion of other metals involves redox reactions which doesn't tell you anything about toxicity or some general corrosiveness.
I'd be much more interested in the levels reasonable for plants and the type of copper used, prrobably copper (II) tho. ive crystallized that sulfate before i believe, its an amazing blue.
germinating cacti seeds on agar plates i honestly dont see the point, its not that hard to germinate cacti seeds safely on the short term but keeping fungi and bacteria away on the long run is a different matter.
And growing on agar long term is basically tissue culture which is done in quite different ways.
The whole point is having a long term soil mix which has a microbial life that is kept in balance and that helps to protect your seedlings from opportunistic infections from other microbes. you can germinate on an inert medium or agar first and then transplant but i dont think you will have accomplished anything by it even if you feel you did.

I got some "ariocarpus" seeds the other day and I broke them up into a few different methods of germination. Ive got two agar experiments with five seeds on each plate. I didnt use any antifungal I just made sucrose agar. I sowed four seeds into vermiculite and sowed seven seeds into a mixture of coir, sand pebbles about an inch deep in a plastic container. Id love to get into tissue culturing eventually but for now the agar is just to make it easier to observe. Cant wait to see what popsup
