First Mushroom Tea Experience

Hey all, last night I made tea for the first time and I'd like to share some of my thoughts on the experience.
Ingredients: 2.2g powdered Cubes Lemon juice Pukka Three Ginger tea from safeway
Prep: 1.Soak powdered cubes in lemon juice for 15 minutes 2. Pour lemon / mush juice through tea strainer. 3. Pour hot water into the strainer / cup and let steep for 15 min 4. Add 3 Ginger tea packs and let steep for 15 minutes 5. Drank over period of 20 minutes
Experience: while I did not trip as much as I expected, I still got considerably high for 3-4 hours. There were minor visuals such as breathing walls and textures but that's not really what i'm after in a shroom experience. I aim for the transcendtal thoughts and visions that come with closed-eye meditation and they were very mild this time.
Potency, tolerance, and final thoughts: As for why the experience wasnt as potent as expected, there are a couple different reasons. 1. I tripped on 2g of the same mush exactly one week before and that was a much more potent experience (washed down the powder with OJ) 2. My extraction method wasnt the best with the tea
My final impression is that I am going to wait at least 10 days before my next experience, up my dose to 2.75g-3.5g, and just eat the capsules or use orange juice again.
Thanks for reading!

It seems to me that your prep may have been a contributing factor to a poor tea experience. If you boil the fruits for 5 minutes (doesnt have to be much water either) and strain the fruits and throw them out and drink the tea I would bet itd be a better experience. I'm a firm tea supporter but I've never done it the way you did it, I've only boiled and strained.

I think I may have to try your method because I probably used too much water and it wasn't hot enough. I do like the tea method because my experience was still overall positive and I had minor nausea compared to past experiences. Do you typically add lemon or other citrus juice? Many seem to stress this. Thanks!

I'll second that your prep was off. The boil is far more important than the citrus. The boil extracts the water-soluble psilocybin while the citrus aids your body in converting psilocybin in the active psilocin. I haven't added citrus to my own in many years.
edit: What I do for one dose: - boil ~1 cup (8oz) of water - chop mushrooms, add to a mug - pour half of your boiling water into mug - steep 10 minutes - strain - put boiled mushrooms into another mug - pour remaining boiling water into second mug - steep 10 minutes - strain and discard mushrooms - combine both liquids - consume - blast off.
I've skimped on this process as well and the tea was just fine. But I like the ritual of my listed process. Makes it feel a little more like a witches brew.

Make your ginger tea first. Discard teabags. BOIL mushrooms in tea for 10-15 mins (not steep). Strain and squeeze as much liquid out of flesh. Do another quick boil with a little more water if you want to exctract a little more.
Drink.
Your 3 tea bags have probably taken up a decent amount of the initial liquid which was then thrown away.
The boil is one of the most important steps, rather than steeping.

Whenever I make tea, I ALWAYS make the tea first. Whether it be green tea, lemon tea, ginger tea.. I always prep that first. Then, take your actual tea, and bring it to a boil for 10 mins with your mushrooms.
Remove mushrooms and drink the liquid - blast off

Steeping in the fashion I described is just as adequate as boiling. I do large batches boiled, single doses as mentioned - the difference is indistinguishable.

I do large batches when I do fresh mushrooms so I don't hold onto them for so long. It's been awhile since I've made tea with dried mushrooms.

Same. Although if I happen to run out of my ice cubes cubes, I'll do it with dried from time to time.

Usually do green tea, ginger, spearmint, honey. Strain the solids - boil 225g wet cubes in for 15-20 min, strain, freeze. 1.5g doses on the ready.

Thank you all for the tips and information, I think I will definitely try making tea separate and then boiling the powdered mushrooms and stick with a dose of 2.5g-2.75g of dried cubes.

I normally boil leftover shrooms after a 5 minutes simmer and the second brew still has a kick. If single brewing I simmer for 20-25 minutes.
