South vs north Asia.

I didn’t list “general locations” dude. Those are continents.

The koreas are fairly new countries. Also, same peninsula.
But ok, you got it. There’s an exception to the correlation. That doesn’t make it invalid.

Do a search for "Source, or make believe" from me to you, and count how many times you provided me a source.  It's almost never.

And did you ever respond to Metoo's question with anything that might actually explain it to him?

Here are your responses so far:

Is this a serious question?
Nah can’t be serious.
Kill rational debate by being as dumb as possible.
There should be an exception to the rule that you can’t call someone a moron if they are demonstrably retarded.
Don’t engage with counter arguments. They aren’t debating in good faith

In other words, you haven't responded yet; you don't debate.

There are many exceptions. Among the wealthiest countries in Asia are Singapore, HK, Saudis, Brunei - all hot AF. I am not sure if climate has much statistical significance here. Globally economic success followed European settlement which gave us the wealth distribution before the Asian tigers awoke. What i am saying is that the World we have inherited appears to be doing just fine in a warming climate so maybe higher temperatures are not that much of a problem.

The reasons here are obvious, and it's not a hard rule, but a generalization.

Another example would be Canada, and the Northern territories, or better yet, the United states, and the Northern territories of Canada.

There are obvious reasons why this doesn't hold true, in these areas. Personally, I believe colder climates having more wealth has to do more with race than with climate, though. White people have dominated the world in a racially prejudiced way for a very long time. White people have been ahead of the game, militarily, for centuries, and continue to be.

I agree - hence my "Globally economic success followed European settlement". My angle, which may not have come across well, is that to work out what warming really does we should look at how the globalised social and economic indicators change as the climate is warming, for a given (inherited) geographic distribution of wealth. As it happens things are chugging along just fine, handily beating the gloomy projections of the environmentalists.

By itself it does not prove that warming is good for us but, since this is what we would see if that indeed were the case, it does not preclude this possibility.

There's a worldwide scientific consensus about this, the science is old as fuck. People were talking about this in the late 1800 and early 1900's.

I think it was Kuhn who wrote that a scientific theory has to be verifiable in order to be taken seriously, meaning there has to be a test able to prove it right or wrong, or else it is just general musings with no scientific status. Ok so what would the World look like right now if global warming were actually good for humanity? We would have economic growth, falling poverty rates, rising life expectancy, deaths from natural disasters trending down, secure food supply etc. Well, guess what - this is exactly what we are seeing so to claim that, based on the available hard evidence, global warming is bad for humans is demonstrably incorrect. Of course it is possible the negatives will kick in later but this is the realm of environmental predictions and we know how unreliable they historically have been.

Actually it was Karl Popper much earlier. And verifiability/falsification is not expected to be currently available, which is particularly relevant here because there is virtual certainty that they will be available as this scientific process plays out. This can be contrasted with intelligent design or how many angels can fit on the head of a pin which do not lend themselves to testing.

The consensus of the scientific community on climate change are in no way "general musings with no scientific status".

Popper - thanks! When you are saying the test confirmation is not expected to be immediately available what you mean is that, in the meantime, it is a
  • scientific claim but of
  • undetermined merit until tested
is that right? I presume the proof positive of climate warming being bad for us would be the global economic and social growth indicators nosediving?

Increased temperatures will cause many fresh water sources to dry up. This will lead to famine, and mass migration. This will lead to political instability and subjugation of those unfortunate to live in equatorial regions.

The domino effect of climate change could likely be the end of humanity, simply due to infighting. Struggling for resources in an unstable environment.

Sure, end of humanity would be a convincing proof that global warming was bad for us. What I am saying is that, awaiting observational confirmation, the claim has a scientific status of a theory with undetermined merit. In fact, given that we keep hearing "it's real and it's happening", it is somewhat encouraging the predicted wholesale environmental catastrophe has not materialised yet. In fact the global economic and social growth indicators like GDP, life expectancy, rates of poverty, loss of life due to natural disasters etc are all looking pretty good. Do you take any comfort in the absence of the signs of approaching doom in the face of global warming which is "real and happening"?
